Stopping outbound access?

Ok, I've tried the demo's of practically every firewall out there. Zonealarm being the worst and Norton Firewall 2006 coming out on top for my setup.

I have a Belking Wireless Router that comes with a firewall. I fugured that rather than splashing out on a software firewall it would be better to enable the one that comes with the router. Is it possible to prevent outbound connection using the hardware firewall? The Norton Personal Firewall allows me to do this just fine and also allows me to block traffic in and out. Is this possible with a hardware firewall?

I have a Belkin Wireless Router it allows me to filter via IP, Port and Protocol - but not like software firewalls which can block individual applications.

Pull up your router control panel http://192.168.2.1 > Firewall > Client IP Filters.

Amon, I'm curious. Why is Zone Alarm the worst? In my experience, it's Norton which is one of the worst of the lot.

Use ShieldsUP! from grc.com to test your firewall. They know what they're doing.

I've used Norton before, but I didn't trust it. And it was bulky.

Lately I've been using Sygate Firewall Pro, but can't find my reg key and might just have to remove it again.
