Better firewall

It seems that Symantec has bought out Sygate personal firewall, does anyone know of a firewall that is comparable in performance. I won't use a Symantec (Norton) product.

I use the free ZoneAlarm edition here backed up with my Wireless Routers hardware firewall, haven't had any problems here with it, though it can be a hassle if you want to host LAN games, so I normally turn it off (and unhook the net) for that.

I still use the old sygate personal firewall version 5.5 build 2525. I'm sure you can find the installation for it somewhere on the web. I have it on some of my backups i think. But i have difficulties configuring it properly for some games.

Kerio is the best/most stable free firewall I have tried.
