Spyware or Virus?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Spyware or Virus?

There's something messing with my computers fonts. In all of my web browsers (FF,IE,O) the fonts are changed to different fonts. On sites like Google and Wikipedia the font that's supposed to be arial is actually impact or something similar. The same thing applies to the fonts inside of Thunderbird. Also, some of the fonts WindowsXP (home) uses are different. I havn't changed any font settings in any programs. I tried checking for virii in AVG, and spyware in ad-aware, and in hijack this. I've found nothing. Any ideas?

Right click on desktop -> properties -> Appearance -> Font Size = Normal?

You know I noticed something similar a year ago... then I reinstalled XP Pro and it went away... I have noticed fonts with Indian names (the country NOT the indigenous US population) in my font directory and when I delete them they come back... no harm from them though...

Font size is normal. Reformatting seems a bit extreme though eh?

This may also be an OS bug, I wouldn't be surprised, really.

Could I repair Windows rather than reformat? CS2 took me an hour to install. :(

I found something similar once or twice. It was because I had dragged a font out of the control panel fonts folder because I wanted a copy to be loaded by some software I was working on. Unfortunately, I didn't realise for a while that dragging it out actually uninstalls the font. It ws an easy fix, I just dragged the font back in. Don't suppose you've done anything like that?
