Does anyone else get this feeling?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Does anyone else get this feeling?

When I am finished writing a computer program, I spend at least a day trying to persuade myself that it's bug-free and useable. (Thus the constantly changing message in my sig.)

Who else gets such pre-release anxiety?

yeah now what you mean, but there is never such a thing as a bug free release in my opion. Even the top class games have patches etc.

Its impossible to test over such a wide range of setups that are around today.

Not me. I have more of a pre-release sense of relief.

I feel phyically sick just after a release. It's a culmination of the pre-release tension and the reflief of it all.

That's why I release my games on a few forums first, Blitz, TDK, Yakyak etc. and then when i'm happy I start plugging it elsewhere and list it on portals.

The "Top Class" companies don't get enough time to REMOVE bugs. Just compare a PS2/GC/XBOX game to it's PC version. Rushed?

I get the same feeling ... it's a bit like getting punched in the gut. Or ... maybe it's like knowing you're about the get punched in the gut. One of those.

I normally give it to me brother and he breaks it after five mins LOL, when he cant break it no matter what then I know its working 100% :)

I get excited and then at certain moments when I think about people looking at it and posting feedback I get that punched in the gut feeling for a few seconds.

However, what is really satisfying is releasing newer versions of something already released because you know that these new versions are an improvement! However, there is always the worry that you broke some code and haven't noticed yet.

Constantly changing a sig would be the very last thing on my mind.
