3d eye glasses

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/3d eye glasses

Has anyone experimented with producing 3d images using the old red green eye glasses technique. If so,what sort of results did you acheive when viewing on a monitor?

The multi-coloured method of holography has been less than
spectacular, from what I've seen. Shutter glasses and
polarized glasses work much better, though they are of
course, complicated to set up.

...It works, but has limited practical application.

A big downside is that it pretty much reduces your graphics to monochrome. If you keep using color, many will be severely off and you need to be careful not to use colors close to red and blue/green, or the 3D effect will be affected.

While it can look cool, I can only stand to look at it for so long, too disorienting. Nice for images, but still more of a novelty.

you want real three deeeeee... nahhhh, i'm hearing what your sayin'...

but are ya really serious about it... do ya really reeeeaaallllyyyyy want reeeeal threeeee deeeeeee...

Chevron,

Yes check out my web page - this is a real-time - moving cartography shop level. Go right to the bottom of the page. It looks good as a static, but fabtastic when moving.

By the way for me this looks great with the red lens on the left and the cyan on the right.

There is some colour effect, but grab some 3d glasses and look at the ancient tomb - it is still quite colourful.

IPete2.

Cheers for all the info lads, i'll take a look at that Ipete2.

Just as soon as I get hold of some glasses.

I recommend that anyone interested in producing stereoscopic 3D have a look at Todd Wildrick's Blitz3D add-on. You'll need a pair of LCD shutter glasses though.

For all things 3D try:

That's where I got my LCD glasses coincidentally.

This is in the archives I think,...
