Simultaneous dual soundcards possible?

I just picked up a set of Logitech Z5500D 5.1 speakers. They're nice speakers, but it got me thinking. Is it possible to hook 2 sets up and have sound coming from both at the same time with twice the dB output? I'm not sure how.

I thought about 2 soundcards, but then Windows only allows sound output from 1 at a time. A splitter on the digital coax? Maybe a soundcard with two S/PDIF sockets, although I couldn't find a card that has this. I'm willing to look at any flapping adddendum cable adapter thingy.

Has anyone tried something like this with success? I've spent the last week or so hunting around different sites, but as far as I can see it's not possible.

If you really wanted to do this the easiest way would be to boost the signal by 3db, split it and send to each speaker set.

you would need to either buy,or make and amp and splitter.

But why you would want this i am not sure?
5.1 is 5.1 for a reason. 5 speakers.

Would it not be better to buy a better set to acheive your desired result?

Although that particular model is for optical and not coax, i'm sure you could find a coax one if you spent a bit longer searching than i did.
