Just uploaded an improved demo of the game. Code included both as part of main download
and as a separate download if desired (should work with previous versions if you downloaded them before)

Game (and code) (see earlier thread (link at bottom) for screenshots)

1-4 Gamepads (or joysticks with at least 4 buttons) required to stomp through 25 dungeons of crawling beasties.

Changes include - music (by Ajari Wilson)

New title (still subject to change though)
Better frame timing (still not perfect though but should be more playable on lower spec machines)
Camera adjusts if any player is difficult to see.
In game display panel replaced - press button 3 on your
game pad to get an overlay of your character's score,
number of keys held (yellow dots), number of potions held (blue dots).
Health bar prominent above character to allow you to have
a better idea of when things are getting rather dire.
New effect:Blood stains on the dungeon floor when killing
enemies.
Minor graphical fixes.
Small number of additional sound effects. I am still in need of character vocals for various effects.

See earlier threads for screenshots and additional information.

All comments and criticisms welcomed.

I'd test it, but I don't use a gamepad.

Gauntlet was made for keyboard dammit!

Pertubatio, check the "earlier thread" link, he provides a way to enable keyboard support

ta :)

I'll give it a go with the keys soon.

Finally played it (with keys). It's cool, I like this sort of game, definite potential. Needs lot more polish but I'm sure you know that. I played in 1024x768 and noticed that some ghosts seem to wobble rapidly as they walk towards me, is this a roudning error in their coords so something. Instead of spinning on the stairs, why not just walk down them and slightly shrink player. Also the stairs are this weird block that pokes UP out of the floor, odd. Some clipping probls like if the stairs are at the bottom of the screen and you walk away, they disappear before they should. Camera angle change is a good idea. Music is great and sounds effects are sutable. Need more polygons on gold and maybe just more interesting looking dungeons somehow, maybe less dark too. Anyway good luck with this.
