Got XBox360?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Got XBox360?

Linkage.

Thats incredibly boring though?

Mine works just fine.. :p

Mine's still in the shop. it will remain there for a while, before i make sure that the x360 wont electrocute anyone.

And Didnt the early Xbox console have a few problems with its power cable?

Microsoft is replacing, free of charge, every Xbox 360 that has problems. I could see suing, if Microsoft wasn't fixing the problem, but obviously this class action lawsuit is just a way for some lawyers to get money. (And not a way for xbox owners to get money... remember the class action lawsuit against the record companies for price fixing? I have spent thousands of dollars on CDs, and was lucky enough to be eligable for a $14 gift certificate! Oh, and how many millions did the lawyers who sued the record companies make?)

So, this guy is suing....why?

Why not just return it? Didn't he get a receipt? I mean, Did
Microsoft bankrupt him? Run his dog over? Kill his firstborn
child?

No? None of these things? Then don't sue, you moron!

(If he wins the case, I'm sure he'll spend the money on a
new 360 and all of the accessories and have a party, jerk.)

Hehe ;)

I read in an article somewhere that stated that as much as 15% of the Xbox360 that was released to the public had problems all similar to what was stated in the article...so its a well known issue.

Heheh. What do you expect, it's Microsoft for gods sake.

I still can't believe anyone would be so stupid as to buy an X-Box.

My softmodded Xbox is the best piece of hardware I've boughth appart from my PC, and had the best console games I've played, I expect the 360 to be even better.

Only real reason I don't have one yet is that a lot of my most wanted games are coming out around March.

Not day-to-day. If you'd stood in line for 55 hours to get an XBox 360 that didn't even work (3 in every 20 sold), and Microsoft told you you'd have to wait a month or so like everyone else, I'm sure you'd be pretty angry too. As I think is pretty obvious by now, to some people the XBox 360 is more than "just another console".

I mean ofcourse Microsoft would never be so devious as to intentionally ship units that failed testing, because the supply was low and Christmas is just around the corner. Not Microsoft they're way too honest and ethical to do such a despicable act as cash in on something like that.

but obviously this class action lawsuit is just a way for some lawyers to get money.
Well that applies equally well to all lawsuits. If it was just about the money, he could've sold his on eBay like everyone else. This is about hurting Microsoft.

He's sueing because he's American. It's what they do best.

Yeah...I bet their TV channels are chock-a-block with 'No Win - No Fee' commercials...Oh wait. ;o)

You don't need to teach a dog how to lick its balls.

> I read in an article somewhere that stated that as much as 15%

I've read in an article it is closer to 1%. I would think that neither article is accurate.

>Not day-to-day. If you'd stood in line for 55 hours to get an XBox 360 that didn't even work

My opinion on anyone who would stand in line for 55 hours for a game console is pretty much unprintable, my opinion of said person expecting an instant replacement is even lower then that.

No problems here ... it does get hot but I have it in a good spot it seems so that it doesn't die.

Or you could simply not set the power supply on the carpet, as the instruction manual says, and you won't have a problem (but Microsoft is replacing the power supplies anyway). Or you could return it to the store.

Seriosly, if Microsoft's consoles are crappy, people won't buy more 360s, people won't buy games (Microsoft is losing money on the console and hopes to make money from game licencing), and Microsoft will be hurt. Lawsuits aren't supposed to be the solution to every little thing that someone might do wrong to you, or to be used every time people @#!* you off. Nothing was destroyed in fire, no-one was injured, no one spent their life savings on an xbox, no one needs an xbox to run their buisness, no one got their credit card or identity stolen.

Some whiney little geek simply doesn't have the self control to return the console for a refund. So he gets a lawyers, and sues.

In 20 years, everything will be made in China, or some other country with sane laws about lawsuits, and Americans will go crazy because China won't be playing that game and there will be no-one left in America to sue.

My friend has a Xbox 360. It gets rather hot on the back, even with a massive fan behind it, but that hasnt affected gameplay yet. I hope it doesnt.
