Hmmm... some aren't bad. Unfortunately, it looks like they're selling some rights that could probably be disputed. I wouldn't attempt to get into any of that licensed crap. However, getting the rights for something like Wizards & Warriors, Bubble Bobble, or Re-Volt wouldn't be too shabby for Xbox Live type stuff ... or maybe grab a bunch of the old ones and do an Acclaim compilation. They did have a few decent games ... unfortunately it might be too few for a compilation though. Interesting nontheless.

Well Bubble Bobble is actually a trademark of I believe of Taito, so you couldn't make any new games with the name. What your buying I think is the right to publish the old games again, not new titles using the name. I suspect the likes of SoldOut software etc. are there intended targets.

Not me. I wouldn't bid on it anyway seeing as Acclaim don't own the rights. No idea how it got onto that list.

At the top it says "PUBLISHING RIGHTS TO 200+ VIDEO GAMES", so maybe you can bid for the rights to publish the games, but not create sequels / get the source code and so on.

Yeah, thinking about, when did Acclaim ever get the rights to Double Dragon?
It seems that even in liquidation, Acclaim are still trying to pull a fast one.

The curious thing is, they aren't advertising the rights to "Double Dragon" (the original), just the sequels:

43. Double Dragon 3
44. Double Dragon II
45. Double Dragon III

Not sure what the difference is between "3" and "III" though!

I'd spend $10,000 absolute maximum - but I'm still confused as to what you get.

There are some D&D/RPG titles that haven't got any bids and my $10,000 is certainly viable - based on some other bids.

There's some real dubious titles on that list which i'm not in any way convinced are the property (or ever where the property) of Acclaim. I'm not convinced this auction is anything to do with Acclaim at all, I think it's a scam.

It gets better. Many of the games that are actually Acclaims property aren't on the list.

They may have already sold some.
