dungeon themepack out wednesday

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/dungeon themepack out wednesday

Hi,

I recent demand from people here on this forum for a dungeon theme pack, i have almost finished it, and the pack will be launched Wedneday.

Not only does the pack contain a full dungeon construction kit, with coridors, rooms, steps that you can lay out yourself to make your own designs, but the pack also contains a cave/catacomb contrcution kit where you can make an original layout for your game

The pack also contains a cave entrance, featuring a skull opening, plus a skeletal bridge for use with the cave kit.

A very atmospheric and spooky music soundtrack is provided, plus a skeleton model which hangs from the dungeon walls, and also skulls, tables, barells etc

Its out Wednesday!

Thanks

Steve

I await the screenshots.

I may not have as much use for this as the building pack.

However, bring it on Large! I'm certainly interested.

screenshots me too!

Sounds good!

Mmm, for me it will be, technically, Wednesday in about half an hour.

I wait, like a stalking sausage - poised to pounce.

I like the constructable dungeon idea - I might buy this tomorrow.

Cool! Assuming there are a few more tunnel sections I can slap together, I can see myself making a game out of this!

Yes!

Threre are 25+ dungeon pieces including coridors of varying length, crossroad type cordiros, so you can join section together, sloping sectionsm and rooms, varying from small to large, with steps too

The same applied to the cave sections - there are loads of variations

Wow the texture on those stairs looks great.

nice looking stuff, as always!

I'd take a second look at the texturing and poly flow on your skull/bone cave thinger. That's all I'll say, since I know how you're going to take it.

I just bought them - so just waiting for the goodies.

Every RPG needs dungeons and caverns and stuff.

Mmm, I've been trying to download this for over 2 hours now - the file size keeps changing. I had this problem with the medieval building pack - took ages to download.

I'm hoping the thing is finished.

potential sniffage.

I got the download - there was no music included - but that happened last time and I got a separate link for the music later.

'we provide you with the dungeon and cave models in 10 different texture styles, so you can choose the texture that suits you, for your own unique style'.

Just been confirmed by email that it is also a separate link too.

So, if anybody else buys the pack and does not get the music or other textures set - don't worry - it is done this way due to the size of the files involved.

Just been looking at the caves/caverns - here's what you get:

Cave piece 1 - main tunnel type - quite 'bouldery' walls and roof
Cave piece 2 - main tunnel type - quite 'bouldery' walls and roof
Cave piece 3 - main tunnel type with 2 small natural side entrances
Cave piece 4 - main tunnel type - reasonably 'bouldery'
Cave piece 5 - main tunnel type
Cave piece 6 - main tunnel type
Cave piece 7 - main tunnel type with small natural side entrance
Cave piece 8 - main tunnel type with 2 small natural side entrances
Cave piece 9 - cave/dead end main tunnel
Cave piece 10 - main tunnel type
Cave piece 11 - main tunnel type - narrow pass in the middle - almost a tunnel
Cave piece 12 - main tunnel type - with 2 large stalactites from roof
Cave piece 13 - main tunnel type with small side entrance - probably suited to connection to dungeon level
Cave piece 14 - main tunnel type with large natural side entrance
Cave piece 15 - main tunnel type with 2 large natural side entrances

I've not yet constructed anything to walk through in Blitz - but I have looked at them individually. The caves/caverns certainly do have natural looking surfaces - ie, not over-triangular/jagged looking surfaces which can sometimes happen when creating this type of effect.

Looking good.

Well, well, well - I just downloaded the music - 10 tracks. I got 10 with the fantasy building pack.

Yet again, the music impresses. Again, I have the same comment:

Some of the tracks remind me of the original Tomb Raider music game (hard to explain - some of them have that deep, sweeping, richness that I loved in some of the Tomb Raider tracks).
Quoted by me previously with regard to the fantasy building pack.

Now, I'll admit that I play most computer games with the music turned off - so I am hardly the best judge of game music - but this stuff is definetley good.

I now have 20 tracks in total - Large!

I note there are another 10 tracks in the Tropical pack - I've not got a use for that pack yet, but based on the first two packs I'd hazard a guess that the music is good.

EDIT:
In fact, for anyone just interested in music, you can buy music packs from the front page of their 'Products' section.

The only pack arteria-gaming have released that featured some dodgy tunes was their RPG/fantasy music pack #1. That had three tunes that erked me. Every other tune (and pack) arteria-gaming have released has been on the level of average to good (sci fi tracks are very good). Certainly worth the bang for bucks ratio.
