... can Blitz3D use em?

i'm testing now, so this question is if i missed something...

thx

--Mike

Nope.

On another note, texture compression should be usable in Direct3D 7, and loading DDS files isn't hard. Its exclusion from Blitz3D is pretty much unexplained.

Couldn't even DB Classic load DDS?

Yep, read here.

thx noel... nah nah nana nahhhh to brice :)

i couldn't get .dds to take in Blitz3d, but i thought it was something i was doing wrong...

thx guys

I wish it did load DDS, 32mb of ram disappears fast if your lightmapping a smallish level even :(

I have been begging DXTC (.dds) support since I bought Blitz3D some 3-4 years ago... since they haven't appeared, I guess they never will. Same with tangent space normal maps... *sigh*

You can use irfanview to convert .dds'es back to tga's for example.
