What is competeing with Blitz?

Nothing comes close, and that is a clear statement made by me and (obviously) by BRL.

Just don't discuss anything of a commercial nature over on porkchop, you'll get yourself banned for being competitive.

And yes I don't think Blitz is in danger or something. It's rather the opposite.

The sticky suggesting off-topic discussion should/could be done on Coder's Workshop, where they are ( presumably ) gearing up to release Cobra soon.

I don't think it makes any difference personally. If Cobra is good, people will be posting here saying so when it is released. And if it's rubbish, the same applies.

Ok, I didn't realize it's Mr Bray's page. I don't know if we can say he's a competitor. He even sells Blitz2D. And as far as I know the "Dispute" between BRL and him was ended.

Ok, I've seen they will release this cobra thing. Buh! sounds scary, right? However. Maybe somebody knows a better Off Topic forum, but please not one that has no visitors.

It's a half-baked solution. We need our own off-topic forum HERE. Why coder's workshop's off-topic forum? Why not Purebasic's off topic? Or dark basic's? Or some pokemon porn boards for that matter? If it's not on this forum, it's a sorry excuse of a bribe to get us off their backs.

It is a bit odd as I don't know most people there and the blitz ones there all have different nicknames so I can't groove to it.

What BRL is doing where the website is concerned:
- Offloading bandwidth onto a competing site
- Directing users to a site with competing products (Cobra, for example)
- Nothing worthwhile

This isn't a solution, so unsticky the thread and remove the rules already.

I say it again, if you know a better external place for an off topic forum, let me know. Blitzcoder is down (and was kind of a shark-pool). We won't get Off Topic on this Forum in the near future, this is for sure. If you're registered in the external forum then it's only one click away. simply ignore the design diffrence.

We're going to get it one way or another, you know. Even if it means just ignoring the retarded rule set by skidracer, which people are doing a pretty good job of so far.

say, I've this idea here:
Point a few non-BRL ppl with a good rep. to moderate an offtopic section (*here*). This way BRL doesn't have to bother about it.

The problem is the forum there is infested with idiots.

Would the moron who posted the suggestion of going to Coders Workshop (and thus supporting Idiotcon) please remove the sticky post. It is highly insulting to BRL and the Blitz community in view of past issues with Idiotcon and Blitz! Not to mention the other communities and indie developers who have felt the sting of Idiotcon.

well seriously.. I'm around on more than one forum (!code), I've *never* seen a forum without offtopic section. Talking/reading offtopic now and then is *normal* behaviour for forum-attenders.
You see what happens.. every now and then someone posts something 'OT' here, it gets moderated/deleted, and ppl are angry again. That can't go on forever.. even if some ppl move to another forum, ppl will continue to post OT here now and then. Question is what will happen.. will there be a postOT/moderateOT&deleteOT-war forever here? Because that's what will happen eventually..

Lots of warez using kids over there. Whole of CW thrives on offtopic. But offtopic made by teens for teens, methinks. Not always, but most of the time. It's a good thing they did, only they should put the link in the rules post. Why have two stickies?

No way. There won't be of topic and there are icecold terminators who are deleting any off topic stuff without pardon. Maybe a sticky link is the best way to meet somewhere else. It's up to you.

Well I see, this was introduced psychologically the wrong way. I shoulda have said "We are not allowed to make a sticky link to codersworkshop off topic forum!! How mean!" I bet Noodle and some other naysayers would have joined the revolution immediately.
