Mastertronic back from the dead

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Mastertronic back from the dead

I just spotted that legendary UK budget lable Mastertronic are up and running again.

http://www.mastertronic.com/corporate.asp

interesting, I used to love spending my pocket money on 1.99 and oooh 2.99 games M.A.D.!

Super! We need more Ninja and/or BMX games!

Great. I too remember seeing all those £1.99 Mastertronic games on the shelf...

Action Biker, Finders Keepers, Kikstart, Spellbound, and 180. Thems were the days.

Wow, they're selling old games. Cheaply.

That's never been done before.

V-8, return to base... Immediately!

Also more "Super" games e.g. "Super X simulator"

WTF is it with Americans at the moment and the word 'super'? They're all saying it.

I super walked down the super street to buy a super bag of super sugar.

Foxtrot Oscar.

Foxtrot Oscar.

I agree.

vinylpusher:

I don't know what you're talking about. He's using super there to refer to a game title. Lots of games had Super in them back in the day.

sswift: If I was having a pop at Grey, I'd have directed my post at him.

I wasn't, so I didn't.

I just don't like how America is going through a fad of prepending things with the word 'super'.

Prepending games with the word super has a long and storied history. :-)

It's because saying '@#!*ing' isn't politically correct.

There are people who believe that substituting swear words with other words, make you a better person.

Still. It's Mastertronic, not Supertronic, so I don't see what the big deal is? :o>

Super! We need more Ninja and/or BMX games!

If it's Spectrum BMX games we are talking about, then it was Codemasters that were obsessed:

BMX Freestyle (Codemasters)
BMX Simulator (Codemasters)
BMX Simulator 2 (Codemasters)
Professional BMX Simulator (Codemasters)

vs just one Mastertronic title:

BMX Racers (Mastertronic)

Mastertronic only released one Ninja game, funnily enough called "Ninja", under their Entertainment USA label. Codemasters also had one Ninja game - "Ninja Massacre".

The funny thing is, there is a game that combines both things! "BMX Ninja" by Alternative Software! lol

And yes... I do have way too much free time on my hands. :)

[EDIT - A day later] Cool, my boring post seems to have killed the thread! LOL
