Hi chaps and chapesses,

You may get an email that seems to have come from the F.B.I. saying that your IP has been logged visiting over 30 illegal sites and asking you to fill in a questionaire.

Almost needless to say it is a sham, noone in the FBI gives a tootie what sites you visit and even if they were interested in what you were doing they would not be so crass as to email you asking questions because, if they are interested, then they already know that you are doing. For good measure a primitive virus is included in the attachment.

It was mentioned in the "new virus flood" thread. Actually this virus is spreading really rapidly. If this suggests a lot of people are visiting illegal websites, I don't know :)

The virus is also telling people they are invited to a TV talkshow.

What! you mean my long lost relative did not leave me $100 Million and that person I gave all my bank details to was a faudster!

I'm British and I imagine if I am ever contacted by the FBI they won't be sending an email...they will be knocking down my front door with a battering ram as way of saying 'Hi there!' ;)

Sadly, quite a few I would imagine...*sigh*

internet? how bout the world. If they were truely clueless, it wouldn't be a problem. It is all these otherwise intelligent people who don't think and don't have an ounce of common sense that fall for this @#!*e... I say... Let em.

We aren't going to stop them. It is pointless. They are going to keep passing on chain letters, keep willingly download that virus, and keep on useing all the spyware infected things in the world.

It is a fact of life. These are the same people that hold hot coffee between their legs while driving. Who walk into open manhole coverse. And who write bank robbery notes on the back of personal checks.

I joined the "campaign" of sending false info to the people who request bank account details. I sent a number of such mails in response. But it seems they still get enough valid data.

interesting... generating endless bytes and squirting them at the provenders of such risible filth in unison could muss up their one way game and database a tad. As a background task maybe - Hey - we could even give it one of those poxy little "systtray" critters to let you know it's chugging away...

You know what I send, people who send me crap like that? I've got a computer that just sits around and does pretty much nothing, except fire off mail-bombs when stupid people peeve me off. Of course, I only do this to people who are asking for it by trying to spoof, fraud, etc. not just because someone pwn'ed me on some game or just cuz i don't like them.

No, youre right in fact. To be honest, most people (if not all, including me) tend to be smart online and shy quiet people in real life. Well, im not like that IRL, but i am being smart online. So, i dont know why i singled you out in my mind. Apologies.
