sigh, can anyone think of any christmas themed games on any format and do they know how well they did? Also has anyone seen any other seasonal/holiday games like Easter or Halloween? Didn't I ask something else as well in that other thread ...? I was just about to copy/paste my question and pop!
Christmas Games
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Christmas Games Christmas Nights on the Sega Saturn, sonic team did a special version of the game that read the Saturns internal clock and changed the games content/theme if it was a holiday... as far as i remember there were special scenarios for christmas, new year, easter, halloween etc etc...
It was a cracking game, and given away for free too!

aha, New Year of course. Hey you know the star wars games on the gamecube read the clock and had missions at 4 different times of day.
I vaguely remember a few holiday themed games over the years, but the best ones are the normal games that have hidden datelocked extra's. Like playing Meck Warrior over the xmas holidays you get santa claus hats on your mechs - which is fairly stupid, utterly pointless, and very funny in a daft and silly way.
For a few years I even set my date on startup to read xmas day just to find all the xmas bonus' you'd get in games - a side effect was that it worked great for shareware demoes too until they started checking time of day since last execution and preventing me from running them at all - since that started happening I no longer date lock my machine.

This thread should be deleted as it deals with and mentions Christmas which is a Christian holiday. Discussion of religion is expressely forbidden on the forums!
is xmas religous? I thought it wasn't but someone said it was.
I only see coca-cola commercial around xmas, large array of red/white trucks.. hence: xmas is about drinking cola!
it is about drinking ... but not cola unless mixed I guess. then you can give up as a new years resolution.

Anatoly: lol, never seen that before!
That's a real game!!! Not a good one, though... I've always found Duke Nukem Carribean: Life is a beach to be much better!
I might have to download both and play them as I still have Duke3D kicking around, in fact I've got some kinda 3D card conversion. Are they free?
I remember that there was a christmas-themed version of Lemmings, with christmas music, christmas lights, snow & lemmings wearing little santa suits... Just 5 levels though, I guess just some free advertising for the 'full' game. It got spread on some coverdisks way back when.
Yeah I've seen a few other games with bonus christmas levels in them.
2 Grey Alien
No... They are not free... But... ebay, amazon... ahem, google... ;-)
And from http://jonof.edgenetwork.org you can get nice source port of Duke 3D for modern operation systems with full 6dx support!
