That was so obviously faked.
1) CPU jumped up out of the socket.
It is the CPU core on top of the ceramic substrate that would fail in an over-temp situation. Explosion of CPU die would exert downward pressure on the CPU package, forcing it down into the socket.
2) Hole in table.
The clue here is that the motherboard remains completely stationary and yet to put a hole in the table would require that the table material (looks like chipboard or plywood) vapourise. The pressure created when vapourisation occurs would release underneath the motherboard (motherboard also vapourising) which would cause the motherboard to jolt upwards.
3) CPU die intact.
Whilst the CPU package is cracked, the core itself is intact and shows no sign of having suffered over-temp failure. The white substance is obviously heat-sink compound.
IMHO, the guys stuck the motherboard to the table, drilled a holed through the board and the table, placed a CPU in the socket and exploded a firecracker inside or just underneath the hole in the table.

I'm going to buy 100 Old Pentium 3 CPU's and bomb America with them - or is it only AMD who make explosive CPU's. Next time I take the cover off my PC I'm going to wear SWAT armour. :/

it's a fact finely perforated silicium may explode when it becomes hot as fire. In that case it acts as a common explosive.
The hole in the table below also looked rectangular, the same shape & size as the CPU socket. If it really blew, you would expect a lot more shredding & splinters -- plus the force needed to blow a hole in the tabletop should have thrown the entire motherboard of the table as well. It didn't even move.
Lastly, since all cables hang over the edge of the table, you don't even know for sure that the running system is in fact the one sitting on the table in front of it. They probably just staged a dead CPU/Motherboard for the video, and feed the monitor from a different computer off-screen.

With the amount of force needed to blow a hole through the table the DIE would have indefinately cracked. I mean come on, they're easy to crack, Some of the extra tuff heatsync clips are known to crack the core. People putting their pc's in the car to go to lans have had their core crack,
