Absolutely amazing ... great single player, great split screen Co-Op ... AND even better ... Xbox Live Online Co-Op! It's so great ... and the game in some instances is so detailed it's astounding (often I just want to look around at the detail and get shot). My only complaint is that it's a bit hard to be really fun for me ... but if you like a strong challenge it's good stuff. I'll have to get better ... there was a time that I didn't like playing Halo on legendary too! Part of the problem seems to be that there's so much detail it's hard to pick enemies out etc... and not because they blur in or anything ... just because there's so much to pick out and decide what's an enemy.
Perfect Dark Zero
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Perfect Dark Zero Stop it, or you'll entice me into buying a 360...
Yah, mee too, maybe my partner has got me one for christmas but probably it'll just be some new pants (that's Y-Fronts for you Americans).

So this XBOX 360 thing.... it's a PC in a box without a mouse?
You'll never be leet at FPS games without w,s,a,d and LMB :)

Yeah I wanna know how good these XBOX kids are at FPS games, surely a PC gamer could blow them to bits. I knew this guy who had an XBOX and he said he was soo good at FPS games and he said he used a gamepad to play them on the PC. Naturally I beat him 20-0 on Quake III and he said he hadn't warmed up lol!
What Tom said.
LOL Grey Alien, gotta luv ta n00bs!

it has regular USB ports, mice and keyboards are planned. There's also talk of being able to use regular windows mice and keyboards.
I dislike FPS on consoles with gamepads too. ANd find that they tend to slow down the game, add autotargeting of somekind and generaly dumb the games down. Let you take a lot of damage etc.
From what I understand PD is best played with HDTV where you get all the details and can more easily pick out the bad guys. I may have to get a VGA cable for mine when I get one.

I played red Faction on my PS2 and although the game was good, the whole controller on FPS things make me want to puke. Bear in mind I've played them all since Doom. I vowed never to buy any more FPS games on consoles and to only buy racing games, platform games and survival horror, this has been a good policy and I've played some wicked games. PC is for FPS and strategy/RGP only.
I don't agree, I find controllers better for FPS than a keyboard and mouse. In fact I find controllers better for most games.
As long as the buttons are mapped well and both analogue thumbsticks are implemented properly they're fine IMO.
You need to adjust to them that's all.

lol, who wants to shoot VIP3R (more accurately) first?
Go ahead punk, make my day :P
@VIP3R: You'd have no chance against a good mouse&keyboard player, face it.
The FPS games on the consoles are a bitch to aim with, and it takes at least a second or two to get it right even if you're good at it.
A PC gamer can pop your head in a fraction of that time, its just the nature of the controls.
If you could have played against PC players on Counterstrike with your control, you'd understand what we're talking about. :)

I don't doubt what you're saying AshMantle, I've played many FPS games with both keyboard/mouse and controllers.
The fact is there's very little skill required to aim/look with a mouse and it's much faster too (very unrealistically sometimes).
With a controller it takes time to adjust and the skill comes from lots of practice. As you said they're a bitch to aim with, but that's only initially.
Of course a player using a controller would never beat an opponent using a keyboard and mouse, simply because the mouse doesn't require any skill and is faster. Not because the player is any better.
I prefer to overcome the controls with skill, as opposed to going on 'point and click' killing sprees.
A lot of hardened PC FPS players will scoff at the above, but that's just my humble opinion ;)

ah I see you are saying it's no skill to usemouse and more to use controller because it's harder, fine I *may* agree there but you are like a kung fu expert saying "I will fight you with this banana even though you have a machine gun because I want to show off my banana skills." lol or "I can program by entering the correct character codes into notepad and renaming the text file as .exe and it runs as pure machine code". ;-)
I like FPS's on Xbox controllers just fine ... and one of my old favorites is Goldeneye for N64. I have to say ... that yes a mouse and keyboard is quicker etc... but if everyone's playing with a gamepad then it doesn't really matter a whole hell of a lot. Just so long as everyone's playing with the same setup I like it. I'd prefer to play on consoles because then everyone has the identical setup which breaks it all down to real skill instead of having the better PC.
