Project Gotham Racing 3 Sucks...

To anyone who has an xbox 360 and has yet to purchase PRR3, think twice before you do. At least rent it first.

Pros:
Great sense of speed!

Cons:
The second you are going fast and starting to enjoy the game you have to slam on the breaks to get down to about 30 m/h so you can barely make a turn...

Rent, do not buy.

You mean it's realistic and thats why no-one should buy it, or do you mean you're incapable of power slides? Which is it?

If you wanted to play Burnout, you shouldn't have plugged your 360 in.

Project Gotham Racing is realistic?

I haven't played the new one, but the old one didn't really strike me as realistic driving.

I am spoiled by gt though ^_^

it's not trying to be realistic, but does require you to have some skill and use the brakes.

You have to remember that you start off with pretty meaty cars, not the usualy $16,000 cars that most people here actualy own.

That means you accelerate fast, have a high top speed and therefor need to put on the brakes a little earlier. I actually would prefer to start with ordinarly cars, and work up to the fancy ones since I'm not much of a fan of supercars.

PGR is awsome for Xbox360 played it today at the store.

Was going to say ... you need to play it longer!

I felt the same way for the first 5 minutes I played it. Then I started really really getting into it. The c0ckpit view is awesome. I don't know if you could do it in the others but in this version you can turn your head while in the car using the right thumbstick to look at your mirrors or to the side of you and it just adds so much! The sound effects and graphics are superb as are the controls and Xbox Live play. I think I picked up the 2 best Xbox 360 titles and after finally geting XBL working I haven't had this much FUN gaming in a long time.

I'm really quite shocked but the little things MS did like making the Xbox Dashboard a fully integrated access anytime thing make the system sooooooo much better than older consoles. You can always pull up the dashboard and exit your game and start searching Xbox Live Arcade or download demos, movies, etc... The fact that everything is integrated into the dashboard is the icing on the cake.

I really thought most of the stuff they were doing was total BS but they have really smoothed over the gaming experience and made it more enjoyable than ever ... not with a huge knockout punch like the new Cell processor ... but by smoothing over every last aspect of interacting with a game console. If Sony and Nintendo don't follow though on the interface front than I think MS's box will be the better machine to play with ... even without a God processor or a techno wand controller.

The original PGR for XBox blew chunks!

I liked the original PGR that launched with the old xbox, same with PGR2. Metropolis street racer was about the only game I played on DC other than Virtua Tennis.

I expect PGR3 is more of the same really.

A couple of weeks ago Sony said they weren't integrating online play into the PS3, leaving everything up to developers on that front. So at the moment they don't seem that interested in online really, and even took out some of the original hardware specs like built in router.

Looking forward to getting an Xbox360 in a month or so.

heh, I've driven a lot of nice cars, and believe me some are dogs in the braking department. Particularly on the track where they fade with a lot of continual use.

And thats only the start of handling, Especialy the front wheel and all wheel drive ones which tend to understeer either through being too heavy at the front or torque steer.

Fortunately 90% of sports cars are rear wheel drive though :)

Not necessarily true.
A Dodge Viper, for instance, is a real dog at stopping. There's just too much weight.
