please someone tell me why this sort page never works for me. The page loads and I see a large media player plugin (I have latest version and IE) but all the controls are greyed out. I wait ages and nothing happens plus right clicking it doesn't show a pop up menu.

I've finished all of those and MANY more (My pc adventure count now is at 303 advenures!) and I play DOTT regulary, but this guy beats it in an hour!!! 8-0
I must point out that this guy didn't practice all week to make this video:
He spends more than an hour on Maniac Mansion, but it is absolutely unnessesary!
Sam with Sam'n'Max:Hit the Road - can be easily finished in a hour...
To those seeking to buy games: EBAY! And, sometimes, Amazon (Amazon = Full Throttle - hint, hint! ;-))
All these games can be run problem-free using ScummVM on modern systems.

Why the hints about amazon? Is it yours you are selling?

You've played a lot then. I've played the classics but got too absorbed in FPS games. Do you include RPGs like Baludrs Gate in your list, in which case mine list will grow quite a bit. Those sorta RPGs are normally great value for money and work out at less than £1 per hour play whereas FPS games thatn can be finished in a few hours can cost £5+ per hour.

No RPG, and NO ACTION ADVENTURES like Alone in the Dark, Blair Witch or Little Big Adventure...
Oh, I just play a lot of games... I've A LOT of FPS games too, I've just never counted them...
No, just on Amazon there is a sweet deal on Full Throttle for 9$, but no box - just the cd... You can get either mac or dos version - it doesn't matter because ScummVM can run either on either machine (well, dos one would be still better if you are running windows).

wow cool vid. I have played them all except for Zak Mcraken and the first indy one (last crusade) whats the Indy one like btw? The second one was great. Oh yeah I played loom on the Amiga, weird game, actually don't think I completed that one as it was at a friends not my house. Finshed the others. Loved the Dig atmos, great. Anatoly. Presume you've also played Star Trek - A final Unity? What about Sanitarium (is that what it's called?). And you must have done Broken Sword I and (and III?). On the 3D front have you ever tried Arx Fatalis, nice game? Also outcast and system shock (I&II)?

Zak McKracken is an alright game... I (My opinion!) think it's not the best of LucasArts games... But people still like it!
Loom is great! I in fact like ega adlib version more than vga cd music! very short though... 30 minutes and you're done!
DIG... Hmmm... I really didn't enjoy it, but I played it for like 10 minutes... It just felt so different from other LucasArts games... Maybe I sould try again.
No, no StarWars or StarTrek... I'm not a fan...

Yes, I've finished all Broken Swords... First one is the coolest, thought I liked third one as well, and it was surprising that som many people hated it.
Arx Fatalis is good... I'm not good in RPGs, but it was a nice hack'n'slash and I liked the drawing stuff, although it seemed pretty intence in combat! Still great game...
I've never had a chance to play outcast, but I heard it's great!
System Shock is cool, second one especcially, but its atmosphere can't be Half-Life's for me... I love Half-Life 2!
Any other games you want my opinions on? ;-)

Oh, yeah! Indy - it's good, but because it was developed after a movie the authors had some limitations...
It's still is very good. Not as good as Fate of Atlanstis, though...

OK, thanks for the Indy info. Look, the Dig is really neat, play it. That star trek one is the only one I've played (it might be the only adventure actually) and it's OK but there are better for sure. Don't know if there are any star wars adventures except for KOTOR I and II (playing I right now)

Well, KOTORs are defenetely RPG...
I'll look into DIG... Many people think it's a great game, so maybe I've just played it at the wrong time - it seemed a bit boring...
I buy every old adventure I see - my recent discovery is King's Quest 8: Mask of Eternity in a old enormous box ;-)

I've never played it before because of bad reviews, but I enjoy it a lot now...

I picked up a complete kings question collection a few years back. Did you ever play Realms of the haunting? And what about Myst (and sequals), they're point and click. And what was that early CD-ROM title about a mansion ... nice graphics, not sure about the gameplay. It may have a had a sequal too.

Realms of the Haunting is probably the best 3d shooter - adventure combo! Great action and a lot of items in the inventory... Great graphics too... And some not so bad FMV.
Myst... Hmmm... I have Myst 1-3 and I haven't finished Riven yet, but I do hate it... I can't stand it... It's not a game... It's something like a virtual world where you just walk around solving puzzles that have no relation to the world whatsoever! I just can't understand such things... Graphics are beautiful, though... But puzzles seem so out of place (Myst 3 seems a bit different, though) that I can't enjoy the game...
The early CD-Rom game about a mansion??? Maybe "The 7th Guest"? Nice graphics... Gameplay - you just wander around the mansion and solve puzzles that are just like Myst's - very out of place... It had a sequel (or a spin-off of sorts) called "The 11th Hour"...
I don't enjoy these games, but people seem to like it (Hey, Myst and the 7th guest are on the top 3 most sold games of all time!)...

That's probably because they were both "killer apps" for their time. i.e. I bought my first CD-ROM drive (single speed!!!) just to play "The 7th Guest". I just had to have it - the screenshots in mags just looked sooooo good. Well, they did for the time. Same for Myst - lovely eye candy. Both games were pretty good, gameplay-wise, for their time but I wouldn't put either in my "top 10 best adventure games". :)

Well, let's not forget that at the time there have been many LucasArts and Sierra adventures that I'd rather see on the most sold list... And one game of theirs beats both Myst and the 7th guest combined!!!

Yup that's them 7th guest and 11th hour, looked cool but weren't so good. I have Myst III exile on my PC and play it occasionally now, the puzzles are hard and weird as hell, but the graphics/atmos are gret. Only problems is I keep trying to use WASD to control the character! I think someone was actually doing a FPS-style convern of it (I read on some lost page somewhere).

I got my Quad-Speed Mitsumi CD-ROM drive around DoomII time, what was my first cd-rom game hmm, maybe Dark Forces (great game btw).

I got Full Throttle on CD and thought ist was great. Oh yeah, here's one Beneath a Steel Sky! I played it on the amiga, it was PAINFULL due to amount of disks but great game.

HA!!!! Me too. I just had to have a cd-rom for that game. (And the fred fish collections on the amiga.) :)

No... No... I didn't have a CD-Rom defore Win95 came around... I didn't miss it, though!
Most of the adventures at the time were on floppies!

when win95 came out I had to install it from disks, about 17 iirc.
