Mark stated in his last worklog (or the one before it) he was starting to give threading a thought... so this small step comes as no surprise then. And a jolly good start it is, too!
Amon. AMD and Intel are both equally great. Without one, the other wouldn't be as cheap.
Hook stuff does seem like a good starting point for threaded applications. Except on Windows where anything that needs to modify the Form, must be invoked in the "main" thread. Thus hooks in particular are not going to be threadsafe - not on Windows at least.
Intel loses every single benchmark (its high-end offering doesn't even match up with AMD's low-end chip on some of the tests), plus intel uses more power and generates more heat.
