Another Shameless Plug
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Another Shameless Plug
I've just uploaded a couple of new pages to the cloverleaf site.
Our browser based games are now live (clicked "Webbed" bottom Left) - if you get issues then it's because I'm having a fight with the security certificate issuer over some problems :P
I am working with the current developers to deliver browser versions of thier games. We use a modified version of the OSA kit to deliver the games - A great product by a great guy! GO Buy IT!
I have also added a small flash movie of each of the games, when you hit the front page a game will be picked at random and the movie shown - I think it looks quite nice and since it's done with Flash it's super low bandwidth.
Plug over... Now register your details and get some nice discount...
Hey Tim, those flash movies are cool!
Tim, any chance you can let firefox users play? Because Firefox allows ActiveX just like MSIE. If you do that, I'll check em out..
But that does not seem to work :(
Oh Well ActiveX on IE it is for now.
Text is still to small.
The images even look like they have a line of 0.001 font text underneath the headlines. What the hell does that say under "Play our web games"?
Please don't link to images.
And yeah that's supposed to be there kinda design thingie.
Tim, just saw your post over at indiegamer, I had no idea that ActiveX controls were so complex. I just figured it was a simple "switch"
I suppose I'll pop up the ole MSIE and check it out then :)
Best of luck, I hope you get that firefox dealie all worked out!
@halo, you suspicious of the small print?
Newsletter signup unavoidably on the front page now. Sweet!
Always a bummer when you're *dying* to give something away to a developer (contact details, money etc) and you have to bust a gut searching through their website to do it.
After installing the ActiveX plugin it wanted a reset!!! What the hell is with that? I clicked No, get the hell away from me, demon wench and the game played just fine =]
EDIT : No it didn't, it loaded, started playing low quality music and went back to the three steps to success screen ;]

Which game was it? what spec machine and os do you have, please be specific about the service pack.
sounds like what happended with c'bubble to me early on although it's fine now. btw it all worked first time on the latpop. It does appear to load the ActiveX thing twice or at least there is some delay before the loading bar apears. Can you tell the maker that the loading bar flickers a lot because it is clearing the whole bar white and then drawing the blue bit. It would be better to remember the last position and only draw the new blue bit to avoid flicker.

Doesn't matter - you addressed it (and that's what I was celebrating). But in your
"New Game Releases" thread of a week ago though, I said:
Took a bit of looking to find how to register for a newsletter - and that's because I was actively seeking it out. Perhaps a lil presence on the front page?
OK I think I clicked the top game on the list (was it c'bubble?), I have Windows XP SP2. Umm, all the latest security patches etc, do you want my actual hardware specs? Don't think that's relevant?
Interesting. I've rebooted the machine and just tried again but it's still doing it. If you want to get in touch, tzuyd@... altho I'm about to go to bed =]
Tim, this is the same as what I had with it. Thing is after cleaning out everything and all that none of it worked (I think, have to check email history). In the end the game just worked after and update you did I'm fairly sure. Still works now, just checked.
Matt, you might find this of interest :
http://indiepath.com/tim/firefox.aviOur plug works with any .exe and is not hard-coded.
Hi Tim,
Cool work ;)
I used Maxthon browser to test your games and it blocked the Java script as if it was an Ad!! I think you should fix this (many people are using Maxthon and Avant browsers)!
Btw, I managed to get OSAKit use a image progress bar beside the normal one too :)

This is what I see after trying GEOM, getting a Blitz window pop up and clicking OK to a Memory Access Violation box ;]
Tim I suggest you give in and start growing cabbages, mind you there's enough of them round here anyway.
@ Maher, any chance of you sharing that snip of code? I'm new to VB, well this is the first VB I've played with. Also which bit of Javascript was blocked? the front page stuff?
@ Toby, after you played GEOM? when did the error occur exactly?
@Grey, People will always have problems with this kinda stuff.
OK specifics... I don't really know what to elaborate on.
Firstly, I just (within the week) installed WinXP Pro SP2 (and all subsequent MSUpdate patches). So this is a fresh installation, the only things I think could be interfering is Windows Firewall (unlikely), Avast! or MS Antispyware (both also unlikely, as it is uncharacteristic of them not to say anything when encountering possibly 'dodgy' content... Avast! for example goes ballistic at miniclip)... Although I do have DEP enabled for all (Athlon64 3000)... but that's supposed to be a fixed issue, so that's unlikely too I suppose. I have had little luck running some of Warpy's exes in the past, but never gave much thought to it.
If I click on c'bubble, it loads (with the progress bar), starts playing the piano music and goes back to the IE6 XPSP2 'infobar' info screen.
If I click on GEOM, it loads (with the progress bar), brings up a B3D window (I'm guessing of roughly 800x600 or 640x480, it looked bigger than the default 400x300 one, but I didn't measure and I'm bad at guessing:) and promptly crashes with the familiar MAV dialog. Upon clicking OK to that dialog, the Blitz window closes and the above screenshot is what's left in my browser. Browsing itself resumes normally.
