TROPICAL Theme Pack
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/TROPICAL Theme Pack
Hi
We have just launched our tropical theme pack. The pack contains over 30 foilage items including palm trees, ferns, plants etc etc which ALL ANIMATE.
Also the pack contains 10 rocks, 6 skycubes and a 10 music track pack all with a tropical feel.
This pack is perfect for anyone wanted to create the kind of imagery in games such as Farcry

You can also download a small video on the site of a level featuring the packs contents
Please check out the pack at:

Cool! I was waiting for this one to be released!
Figured I'd better post quick in case this thread goes the way of the last two threads you posted.
Of all of the packages you've released so far, this is the one I was sure wouldn't interest me, and - much to my surprise - I'm actually trying to think of something I could use it for because it looks so pretty that I want to buy it.
Very nice work.
Looks interesting to me.
I assume keeping the foliage static is not a problem. You say 'all the trees and plants in this pack ANIMATE!!'. Are they animated models or animated via code?
Now this really shows what you're capable of. Good work.
WOW!!!
Very nice work indeed.
I'd love a pin-sharp wallpaper version of this image.

It's almost Christmas ya know :) :) :)
I'd love a pin-sharp wallpaper version of this image.
Me, Too!!!
.
Just wonderning did you use some plugins in your 3d app to create models of this quallity and with animations as well? Textures on these look very professional ;)
Hi,
The models do not have to be animated - simply dont use the animate command - and they will be static.
No plugins where used. Each and every model was created by hand, and animated by hand too using a simple bone structure. The one thing i aimed for in these models, was a realistc swaying movement of the branches.
I wanted to move away from what i see in so many commercial games, where the branches move on a slow jagged movement path, and hence looked very un convincing. When the wind moves through branches, they move quickly and lightly, rather than laboured - and i hope(and do believe!) this is what i managed to create to some degree.
Noodle - thankyou for your comments! It was with some trepedition that i posted this thread - but its nice to see that you can see the quality in the work.
As for the next pack, we have a few ideas. We would like to do a Childrens/kids type pack, with over-the-top model buildings in, kids music etc and also a Dungeon RPG pack. If you guys have any ideas for what you want.. DO TELL!!
Cheers
Yertari (Steve)
Um, I like the sound of the Dungeon RPG pack.
Also, how about some animated RPG/Fantasy models - humans/monsters.
What about a complete dark H.R.Giger style/world? Would suit alien'esque shooters for sure..
What about a complete dark H.R.Giger style/world?
I would buy that! As long as it's not a complete rip-off but has it's own twist to it.
well, a key-element of Giger is regular repetitions of organic things like bones. He doesn't create houses, he creates skeletons in which something can live. :P
Looks like something that would be used by Vordeman in his stunt racer thing. Would fit great, methinks.
Sorry to divert the topic, but... "Intel Pentium 6 15.5GHz - 1024RAM - 270GB hard drive" Is that even possible?
Phwoar! Wish I was doing something tropical - looks great!
But, a thought - that's an awful lot of tris in the vid.
I'd like to hear from someone who said 'I populated a whole island/valley with animated foliage and still got a minimum 30fps.'
HI,
On my pc i get 4-50 fps on that scene!
Steve
Yertari -
I am impressed with the quality of all your music/model packs. Keep at it! Everything is first rate. Love the RPG music pack BTW.
Dungeon RPG pack.
I vote for this one
I vote for the Dungeon RPG pack too... but if you do any dungeon layout/room style models, they should be tileable... somehow =]
Ok... The dungeon pack is next. im gonna start work on this immediatally
Steve
Actually, I'd like to see a number of tileable content packs so you could mix and match.
Love to see a city or town pack.
Actually.. i have been thinking on a similiar line too. What type of city scene - old or a new city?
Yertari, any chance of a wallpaper version of my first post? :)
I really like your music packs. Unfortunately, money is super tight until after Christmas (five kids), but after Christmas I will definitely be buying all of your music packs. Darn good stuff. Even in I don't use them in my games, I just enjoy listening to them.
kinda OT, but relates to the products on your web page...
yetari - you might consider doing packs that can be matched.
For example, do a new city pack then an old city pack but make sure they use the same grid so they can be mixed and matched. Then you could do theme add ons... stores, housing... People could buy just the packs they need or buy them all to mix and match.
Your modelling is excellant, BTW.
