Is ePSXe still the best PSX Emu?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Is ePSXe still the best PSX Emu?

I have a whole bunch of great PSX RPG's and I would prefer to play them on my PC. It's been ages since I had an emulator installed though, and I just wondered if ePSXe is still the best or if there's anything new around?

If it's anything like PCSXbox I'd say it's pretty good. The Xbox one runs most of the game I have tried pretty well.

I couldn't get Final Fantasy VII working flawlessly though. My computer is FAST, but something just didn't work quite right with that game. Oh well, I've got playstation too, so no worries ^^

ePSXe is the only PSX emulator I've actually used, latest version works quite nicely on my setup, only after loads of tweaking the graphics though....mainly use it only when my PS2 decides it doesn't want to play my old games without issues.
(point in case, Grandia 1, freezes up randomly)

There're many open sourced PSX Emulators, maybe some can make a workaround and make something like PSX2Exe(wrapper, not actual machine code).

However I'd prefer make my own game instead.

It's still the best, as far as I know. The main thing that matters are what plugins you use with it.

FFVII works fine on my setup with no slowdowns or nothing....but it's not quite emulated perfectly.

I prefer to use PSXEven as its more up to date than ePSXe, slightly faster, and has much better compatibility. If it helps I use Pete Bernets OpenGL 2 Plugin for Video.
