well, i think i said something about using that ole tried and true 'fishing game' formula...

I could do that now using blitz, but seeing that really takes me back. I remember a few years ago I did the art for a fishing game using 3DGS. It was pretty mediocre even then; this totally blows that away.

yes... the amazing thing, and the point i'm getting at is that the guy wound up getting it published... and the last i remember, it had sold over 75000 licenses...

so... for those looking for a new type of game to make... i just throw this out there for consideration...

i was just amazed when i ran across it... another fishing game... but, there it is... in t's full shrink wrapped glory... just in time for the holiday shopping season...

Actually I can understand the appeal of catching a fish, or spying on a rare bird through some binocaulrs. The thing is, these hobbies involve a hell of a lot of sitting around being bored stupid 99% of the time. I went fishing once for an hour, I sat there with this rod and did NOTHING, I can honestly I don't think I've been been so bored.

Well your attitude changes when you catching fish over 3 feet in length. ;)

As I recall there was no interest in developing it if they could not work drugs into it. Certainly that was the gist of what was said.

I think 3Dfish is already working on one.

I could make that, if I could program well, had some good models to use, and had the patience to make a game. :/

I love Rainbow trout. Just try saying the word to yourself out loud, it's impossible to say it without elongating the words into a comedy sit-com voice.

I poached(stole) a rainbow trout once, when I was a kid. It was delicious. :)

I prefer shark fishing. You need special heavy-duty fishing gear though. They taste 10 times better than trout, IMO

Trout aren't real. Have you ever watched fly fishermen? The hook barely even touches the water! The only way this mythical fish could ever get caught is if it leaped out of the water and grabbed the hook in midair.

You've been watching the wrong fly fishermen.

You need to let the fly float down across the top of the fish from further up the river, once it's passed your target area you re-settle it upstream and wait till it floats passed again. You don't flick the water with the fly all the time cos' that just scares them away. (although farmed fish can be caught like this on occasion, but only if they're new to the river).
