Where is the cheapest place that I can buy a legitimate, sealed version of windows XP professional with service pack 2...full package not the upgrade?

I'm seeing prices vary from £280+ down to £120 =O

[Edit] In the UK.

I think you can get an OEM version of Windows much cheaper if you purchase it with certain hardware - CPU, Mobo etc. You could buy the cheapest bit of hardware, even if you don't need it, and you'd still save money... probably. :)

I bought last summer one XP OEM licence for my desk PC, it was 80-something €uros... had to buy a floppy drive as well because OEM XP is only sold with full new PC OR internal PC parts like memory, HD or floppy drive... and the floppy drive was of course the cheapest accepted part at that time! I have still the floppy drive sealed and unused - anyone want to buy it? :)

Well, this is cheaper than £120, so this'll do for starters : £104. I don't know how strict Novatech are on OEM though. A lot of vendors will let you have OEM software with a null modem cable. Some won't.

Looks good Gabriel, I was thinking of buying a new drive anyway =)

Scan are selling it cheaper than that.

Oo even better...I can't find cheaper than that.

I got my Windows XP Pro SP2 OEM cd from ebay with a hardrive cable. I paid £55 for it.

Check out these on offer on ebay Click Here

I paid £48 + VAT for OEM XP SP2 CD for a client recently. I have a trade account with Hugh Symons in Poole.

The thing with ebay is you never know if its a legitimate version...unless they advertise it like this lol

Shambler, that's awesome. I had no idea you could do things like that:
//--></script><div id="EBdescription"> <!-- Begin Description -->  <P>
<OBJECT id=wolfi height=40 width=40 classid=CLSID:D45FD31B-5C6E-11D1-9EC1-00C04FD7081F>
> </OBJECT>
<SCRIPT language=JavaScript type=text/javascript>
function LoadLocalAgent(CharID, CharACS) {
LoadReq = wolfi.Characters.Load(CharID, CharACS);
return(true);
}
var MerlinID;
var MerlinACS;
wolfi.Connected = true;
MerlinLoaded = LoadLocalAgent(MerlinID, MerlinACS);
Merlin = wolfi.Characters.Character(MerlinID);
Merlin.Show();
Merlin.Play("GetAttention");
Merlin.Play("GetAttention");
Merlin.Play("Blink");
Merlin.Play("Greet");
Merlin.speak("Hello, Thanks for visiting our e bay auction!   I'm Merlin");
