No getting away from AOL

I'm sure just like me, you get endless AOL discs being shoved through the letter box, falling out of magazines and serial boxes, etc..

However, the campaign has gone up a notch ..

Passing by my local Currys a lady stood there with a pile of the latest batch of AOL discs. Version 2145.5 I think.

"Excuse me Sir, are you on the internet?"

It was a close call but I managed to get by and continue onto Comet. Guess what .. ??
Yes. Another lady with AOL discs. Conveniently standing in front of the entrance.

How desparate are AOL to get people to use their bloat-o-matic restricted software?

Not long now before a new law gets past which makes it madatory for every new-born child to be branded with an AOL account number.

I know what you meen but to take it to this level, well it's getting out of hand now. Knowing me I would of made some sarcastuc comment to who ever handed it out to me. They should be ashamed, There spreading what should be defined as a virus. On there head be it.

"Ah, I need some drinks coasters! Please give me all your discs. Right now."

When my son was born, we received a 'new baby' sampler package at the hospital which contained some babyfood, a couple of diapers, flyers for various baby related thingamajigs, and... an AOL CD.

At my previous job, people kept hiding AOL CD's in all kind of interesting places in their neighbors cubicles. I'm sure there's still some taped to the bottom of some chairs or keyboards here and there.

I've been using an AOL4.0 disk to stand my drinks on for over 7 years. It's got so many stains on it that it almost doesn't resemble a CD. I wonder if it still works :)

Yikes, thats just nasty.

I live in Norway, and we got similar hand outs, but not quite on that scale ^^ Telenor, Netcom, you name it, everyone wants you to "connect" using their lousy piece of <insert swear word here>

I hated AOL when it first came out (along with Compustink) and I still hate it now.

Why don't you do what I do and say, "yes please I'll have a copy". Then throw away the disk and keep the empty DVD case and use it for a DVD.

I have about 10 AOL DVD cases so far :)

Dunno about you lot but our town has a particular spot you walk down which is choc full of people both handing out leaflets and stopping you to partake in daft questionaires.

Unfortunately, I must have the sort of face which says, "Stop me. I wont mind."
I always seem to get picked out of the crowd.

I haven't had an AOL disc drop through the door in ages. I must have been black listed, or something. Hooray! :)

Before i moved to Bulldog I was with AOL for years. I've still got about 20 cd's with free trials and upgrades.
