Download Site Submission Service

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Download Site Submission Service

Hi,

Just wanted to let everyone know that Glimmer Games will be offering a software submission service from now on. We will submit your software to over 400 download sites for just $29.95. You could find yourself spending weeks submitting and not reach 400 sites, that's if you can even stand all that tedious, repetitive filling in of forms. For $29.95, we'll do it all for you.

I've recently taken on a permanent employee to help with administration with Glimmer Games, and he wlll be doing all site submissions from now on. We've learned a lot about site submissions with all our games, so it's only logical to use our knowledge to provide the service for others. Rival services can charge $100, $200 or even more for an inferior service. We offer a full service, including all logins and passwords, so you can update the entries yourself if you wish, a full report of submitted sites, PAD file creation ( if required ) PAD file verification, and detailed statistics one month after submission.

By the way, I've just uploaded a major site update, so if you spot any errors, typos or broken links, please let me know.

Site is very good but some of the games' small screenshots can be clicked on to enlarge, and some can't.

sounds like a good deal,
do you submit the game AND the website?

Thanks, I'll locate and fix those now.

Yes, if the download site takes a website URL as well ( most do ) we will submit that as well.

Everything is registered to the developer. The email address we use is the one you provide, so you will receive all the correspondence. The Site URL we submit is yours.

Gabriel,

That's dirt cheap, you must have automated the process somewhat.

Good luck. Tim.

the robosoft software does that for you for the most part, but costs $100 plus subscription. Probably still worth the glimmer games deal just to not have any hastle with it.

We have software to do this for us, however it still needs a manual check for each of the sites as they do tend to change the process from time to time and/or need you to enter a confirmation code to prevent spamming.

I think this is well worth the money in time saved alone!

I hope people think it's good value for money, yeah. I know people worry about spending a lot of money on marketing their games in case they don't make it back again. We wanted to offer a service that everyone can afford.

It's automated to some extent, but we don't just bang it out in RoboSoft. Though it would probably be perfectly legal, I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that anyway, because we'd be denying Robosoft the right to profit from their software.

I'd definately prefer paying the money to have someone do this for me. I'm all for using money to make hassles go away. :)

Well i have to say, as a very stingy person who would never buy anything, i think i'd spend my money on this. It's a very good price. If i ever finish Nebulae, i will submit it with you guys! I'll just have to check where/what you submit first. :)

However, i cannot use paypal (multiple reasons). I do have a internet-worthy debit card tho, so will you be offering any other kinds of payment for submissions?

Hope this doesn't sound like a silly question - What's a PAD file? I'm thinking it's something to do with passwords...

Do you know what [a http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=mozclient&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&q=PAD+files]Google[/a] is? ;op

Sure. Do you have a payment method you would prefer? I could add Plimus but they don't accept UK debit cards anyway.

No, it's not a silly question. A PAD file is an XML file which describes your software. It's a standard form used by many download sites to make it easier to submit your software, particularly when it comes to updating the listing. Many submission sites will monitor the URL of your pad file on your website, and automatically update their listing when your PAD file is updated.

It typically contains the product url, buy url, screenshots urls, download urls, descriptions, price, filesize, and all that info. I recommend PADGen for putting together your PAD files, though we are happy to create the PAD's for you if you prefer.
