Really cool, but what makes me angry is that they are using Purple to calculate how effective their nuclear stockpiles are! Couldn't they use it to do, more, humane things!?!? Global warming for example!!?

Chances are, a computer that size used for millitary purposes, is going to have an EMP shield. Wow! My chess program might actually beat somebody running on that thing. ;-)
I wonder how many years/decades/centuries(!) it will be before this kind of computing power is available to the average consumer. No idea what it would be needed for but I'd be interested to know how long down the track before something with equivalent power is in every home - in our lifetimes?

20MHz, but depending on how well you can optimise the tasks for massive parallel operations, you should see a much higher efficiency than with a single processor setup.
