RPG Maker XP and similars?

I'm playing this, a funny tool making your own RPG,
it's not as dull as the sample screen shows, actually it can be controlled/modified via RUBY script.

It's very popular in Japan and China, and this is the English version, FYI it runs bit slow, and only for 2D, but have nice elements to assemble a RPG world.

I'll try to post a sample game if I have space.

How about make a 3D RPG Maker in Blitz?
Blitz should be powerful enough for such task..

RPG-makers are hard to make for 2d already, if you want it to offer flexibility so we won't end-up with tons of the same RPG's.

Tho that RPGmakerXP looks funny, I've no doubt there's *some* limit somewhere, and it's exactly because of these limits that coders might prefer to make their own engine.

Usually 3D creation engines fail becose average joe cant model 3d models, but can draw average level 2d graphics.

RPG Maker XP is good little program, I like it, well demo at least.

made in blitz, comes with hundreds of models and prefabs, full set of tools, scripting language that is easy, pro version will have full source code. And its cheap 55 USD for standard, pro about twice that when its out.

What's happening with realmcrafter ? - the website says release on the 16/10/2005 but no more news after that. When you register on the site it signs you up to some unrelated shopping channel ?!?

RPG Maker is great, havnt used XP yet, but 2000 I have.

Awesome, The old school RPG makers were great for banging out ideas... maybe this one is robust enough to make a serious freeware/shareware project on...

My friends have some old versions of RPG Maker. I think it's RPG Maker 2000, like K.
