Your Work on My Site

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Your Work on My Site

I'm looking for content to fill up my new and improved http://www.noenemies.com

I'm looking for simple (or complex), free Blitz games that people would be willing to put on my site for mirrors. The games must be freeware. Also, if you've done any Flash animation, I'd love to have that as well. Currently I'm accepting the following:

- Free Blitz games
- Flash animations
- Free applications
- Tutorials
- Editorials/Reviews on games, movies, books, etc.
- Music

If you think you could submit any of this work to No Enemies, then I'd love to see it. Submission Page <-- Click there to submit work.

I'm also looking for people to be affiliated with No Enemies.Com. See http://www.noenemies.com/affiliates.php for details.

Thank you. Submitting your work will give your site more publicity, because all submitted work will give a link back to your site. And link exchange is always a good way to be known.

I don't see why people would want to put thier work on your site?

I mean, they put work on your site, which is covered by google ads, which generate you money. I could understand it if you where a big portel with hundreds of thousands of hits a day, but your not.

Maybe I missed something?

I dunno. I was just wondering if anyone was interested in having anything on my site. It's one other place to put your work. The point is that when more content, the more traffic will come to my site. Once they view someone's work, they follow the link to their site, thus creating more traffic for them. It's like doing a link exchange, except you don't have to do any exchanging.

It's just spreading your work around. It seemed like a good idea to me. Thinking logically, putting one piece of work in 10 places, no matter what traffic they get, would be better than putting it in one place with very little traffic.

It seemed like a good idea at the time, and I thought it all out, but maybe *I* missed something.

[edit]
Just for statistics, I had 350 hits today. Which isn't a lot at all. :(

well i just think that having the google ads on it is a bad idea. Basically it seems like you want to make money from the adverts by using other peoples hard work.

Also you have a manual submision system, i.e. people have to email you and you have to manually make a page for them.

If you really want to make something useful, then why not make a showcase site, similer (but better) than the old showcase system on blitzbasic, as this site still doesn't have something like that.

It is a showcase. But I'll improve it.

"Grooovy!"

Hijack: Cyg, that game rocked on the Megadrive!

You can post this code into your site if you wish. It will display a flash animation advertising my current project.

I see no ethical problem with Google ads being on the site. We all know that hosting costs money, why shouldn't a small amount of money be recouped from advertising?

The busier the site gets, the more Google clicks but also there will be more bandwidth charges (generall speaking) so it evens out a bit.

I don't see how Google ads are bad either. They're better than popups, popunders, flash ads, or image ads. Text ads are the way to go, man!

It costs me $2 a week to keep the site up. Which isn't that much, and Google ads covers it. I make about $1 a day, which is pretty good considering I just finished the site a couple days ago.

I agree with vinylpusher - there isn't anything wrong with using some un-intrusive text-only google ads to help cover hosting costs.

I have to agree with vinyl and John. This is something that is generally done to minimize hosting costs, among other things. They're not glaring, flashing banner ads that attract your attention to them, they're simple text ads that won't distract you.

Anyhow, I'll consider presenting work on your site, Steve, no guarantees though.

I don't really see what's bad with what Steve's offering...
lots of poeple post there free games on other peoples websites... (usually free game archives)
and I imagine he wouldn't protest against us putting a link to our websites in our own free games, or our names...
so that sorta helps spread the good word...
I think it's a good idea... but that's just me..
I'd put something up... but I haven't done anything amazing (mainly tech stuff, getting better graphical stuff)
and since I just went through a messy break up (messy 4 me) I dunno if u'll see anything amazing from me very soon :(
but if I do... I'll contact ya ;)

>I make about $1 a day

don't say that high, you may give Anthony ideas ;)

you really make 1$ a day? how can you make so much from google ads if your trafic is probly zero?

you really make 1$ a day?

My blog made about $3 a day before I took the ads down (have to be 18 years or older to show them, so I pretty much took them down after seeing what could have been).

>My blog made about $3 a

So that is reason why you blog you cower :P

so more traffic you have more you can make from showing just google text ads?

It costs me about $4 a month to host my site. I don't understand the whole argument that hosting costs.

It only costs if you make a mission-critical site which needs a virtual server or guaranteed load balanced bandwidth.

Otherwise you're being overcharged for what you have.

I get more traffic than a lot of people think. My website is advertised at my school by word of mouth, and I've been posting it on a lot of forums and chatrooms. All my friends and relatives go there as well.

Jack - It currently costs me $4 a month, put I have to pay for two years in advance. So it ends up at $96. But I hated paying that money all in bulk like that, so I'm switching to month-by-month hosting for $8 a month, plus a new, more reliable host. My last host had major problems with POP3 email - I kept getting bounce-back notifications when I got the email anyway...it's so messed up.

What host are you using?

Maximo - I made around $3 today - and right now it's only 16:37.

I'm pleased to annouce the release of my forums:

Please post any submissions there or email me.

Thank you!

the e-mail I sent you bounced... was about affiliate'n www.dampes8n.com with your site, and what URL you want linked to. (and what you wanted said)

I don't care what you say about my site, just as long as you mention in is a portfolio site, and that it contains art, writing, and music, and other stuff.

I don't get a large amount of traffic, but for some reason I do get traffic... I'm not exactly sure why at this point.. I rarely update it, and there isn't a ton there... I guess I update it enough to keep people checking, and or that they like the music enough to come back to listen to it often... why they don't just download it, I don't know. I only put work that I do for free or self promotion there. Things I'm not worried about getting stolen... And that I would be willing to let people use for free.

Within a few months my Warcraft 3 RPG map will be getting its own section under the games.

(it isn't really just a map, it will have full VO and if I can find someone who knows enough about swaping out the models and such, It will have lots of unique or edited models. It has a very deep story as well, one that I'm proud about, that fits in great with the Warcraft universe, which is why it is a warcraft map in the firstplace.)

I visit pretty much everyone's website via their sig.

And don't worry if you're email bounced back. My sever host is messed up - he makes them all bounce back, although I do get them. I'd love to affiliate...do you have button?

Steve, do you take game submissions from those of us who do NOT use Blitz for our games?
