MISSING PERSON
An official MISSING PERSON statement has been released by the Southern Maxthreedee authorities that:

Mr. Mark Sibly has been reported missing.

Mr. Sibly was last seen on 27th September 2005, apparently getting ready to go on a bug-hunting safari in the jungles of Maxthreedee in the southern parts of New Zealand.
When he was last sighted he wore a safari hat, striped tee-shirt, khaki shorts and sandals.
Some observers said that he was armed with a front-loading pellet gun. But a close friend of Mr. Sibly’s said, he (Mr. Sibly) would never have gone on a safari without packing his 22 magnum water pistol with which he was a mean shot.

Officials said that they where very concerned about Mr. Sibly’s wellbeing since they have good reason to believe that Mr. Sibly was heading for the remote Gui plateaus in the vast Maxthreedee forests. In those wild uninhabited regions there still live the very dangerous man-eating super bugs of the species Bogus Computus.
Further the officials of the Maxthreedee regional government said that it is a rather reckless act even for an experienced bug hunter like Mr. Sibly to venture into those forests all alone without any further support.

Some local natives believe that the evil Xplatform spirits, which can drive even strong man insane, haunt the Gui plateau regions. They (the natives) are worried that those spirits are even more dangerous then the Bogus Computus.
However, the official regard this as some local superstition and would rather not mention it in public. (Because of the negative impact it might have on the local tourism industry.)

A close friend of Mr. Sibly’s (he insisted to stay anonymous) stated that his main concern is that Mr. S might run short in supply of B&P (Beer and Pizza) which is Mr. S’s staple food and of vital importance for Mr. S’s wellbeing. He (the anonymous friend of Mr. Sibly) recommends that a stock of B&P should be organised which could be airdropped by helicopter ones Mr. S’s location has been established.

Members of the Sacred Church of Blitzthreedee of which Mr. Sibly is the founder Patriarch, are very devastated over the disappearance of their leader. They are quite lost without His guiding hand and crave for the holy utterances of his wisdom.

In the meantime, the officials announced that they will organize a rescue safari for Mr. Sibly and also request that any person experienced in bug-hunting and with knowledge of the Maxthreedee jungles might come forward and join the rescue party. But they also emphasize that any participant joins this extremely dangerous undertaking at his/her own risk.

Furthermore any person with information which might lead to the discovery of the whereabouts and rescue of Mr. Sibly should furnish this information to the local authorities or post them to this website.

There are rumors that the Sacred Church of Blitzthreedee is considering a substantial reward for the discovery of Mr. Sibly’s whereabouts and his rescue. But no official statement about this has yet been forthcoming.
However, any private donations towards the organizing of the rescue party are very welcome and should be forwarded to the rescue committee.

LOL

I think we need Indiana Jones.

Mr. Sibly was last seen on 27th September 2005
Unconfirmed reports suggest he was last seen on 19 October 2005. Please forward these details to the appropriate authorites.

Are those two scary tree monsters in the picture Simon Armstrong and James Boyd per chance?

I see three scary monsters.

i see only one in the middle

Doesnt this deserve an answer?! ;O)

If he's dead then this place is mine. Mine, mine, mine. Sorry "Skid", but "Sibbo" loves me more - you can still be a mod though and I'll need you to finish BMax 3D Mod.

Right, now where's that Off Topic section?

LOL - this might get locked though - just release SOMETHING Mark. I'm not really interested in a GUI anyway because I'm writing games not editors (priorities??!!)

The sound of restless natives is becoming almost deafening - which isn't funny.

Ok that's my last dig at BRL for a while, definitely time to stop visiting this site in the short term - or take another look at C++/DirectX.

The sites now mine - do what you like.

I'm dying for a new release. The news of BlitzMax 1.12 sounds promising and the GUI module even more so. I think they'll release both the 1.12 update and GUI module at the same time. Skidracer said the Bmax update was imminent so I don't see us waiting to much longer.

Speculation as always.

omg! someone should print out some milk cartons with his mug on it.

This is über important!!

lol, its been tense around here for a while

@ jb: Thanks for pointing out the newer sighting of Mr. S. This tremendously improves the likelihood that Mr. S is still well and kicking!

@ sswift: Hyper-holographic astral-spectral analysis has exposed that there are indeed at least two of the evil Xplatform monsters lurking in the vicinity. (This just shows, one should never underestimate native wisdom!) However further investigation has revealed that Mr. S is quite aware of the existence of those evil monsters and well equipped to squash them along with the bugs! (There might be more powerful liquid he packs in that 22 magnum water-pistol then just water…)

@ Panno: Evidently you haven’t yet developed that keen, monster spotting eye as our friend above. And mistaking the healthy, bug hunting form of Mr. S. as a monster clearly indicates that you might suffer from a post traumatic… ahem, just try to take some more frequent breaks from staring at pc screens ;-)

@ taumel and puki: Don’t despair! Answers are often forthcoming when you least expect them. As indicated above, newest discoveries clearly show that Mr. S. is not just an ordinary human being and that indeed his bug hunting abilities are extraordinary. Therefore the chance to get him soon back into our folds is very real!

@ Aten: Be patient man, give our brave hunter a chance to kill all those nasty bugs and monsters!

@ AshMantle: Very good idea! Maybe you could post a design here. Then somebody with some nifty mug-printing facility could volunteer for the job.

jungles of Maxthreedee in the southern parts of New Zealand.

We don't call it 'jungle' down here mate, we call it 'bush', as in 'lost in the bush', or 'he's gone bush' for when someone's lying low.

Brilliant, Wedoe!

Do you know I've never actually seen a (real) picture of Mark Sibly. Why is that? Are there none?

there were a few ones posted some time ago.. I think it was of Mark receiving some degree of a sort.. and there's was another one of him and some other guy (I can't remember who it was.. perhaps Simon?) in the sofa or something..

I bet quite a few around here has got them stored on their HDs.. :p

This is most brilliant thread I've seen in a long time. :)

The first picture is the one mentioned above by LarsG :)

All I see is a picture of a rev'd and the Blitz Newsletter, and some obsure others. Is Mark a rev'd?

All I see is a picture of a rev'd and the Blitz Newsletter, and some obsure others. Is Mark a rev'd?

Not that I know.. as far as I know, Mark is the one on the right shaking hands with that other fellow...

.. oh.. and I think that the other Mark Sibly is some Australian based priest/rev or similiar...

Since public response to an urgent call to organize a search party for the recovery and rescue of Mr. S was rather sparse indeed, the organization of such a party has been terminated. (Poor response of participation has been attributed to the extremely dangerous nature of such an expedition.)
But there might be hope yet that some private parties will pluck up the courage and organize a rescue party on a smaller scale.

The accumulated stockpile of B&P will be distributed to underprivileged natives living on the fringe of the Maxthreedee bush (if they not yet have gone bush…) <<<(MadJack, please note!)

@ MadJack: thanx! Great to have some insights into the local vernacular. I thought those phrases where only used in the USA!
I must confess, the above report was only very superficially investigated. It might also be helpful to get a more detailed description the local flora and fauna of the Maxthreedee country in southern parts of New Zealand, which might help to validate the authenticity of the above picture. (I do have some suspicion that it might be a fake!)

@ wedoe: LOL, love it! But why did you stop when it was getting so exciting? We want level 2!

@ Steve: Thanx Stevy, you made my day! Nice to know that I’m not the only nutcase visiting this forum. (No offence meant!)

@ John & LarsG: I can’t quite understand what you are looking for? After all, I spent the best part of two hours to produce this amazing likeliness of Mr. S. in the above picture!

I'm not looking for anything!!! >.<

:p
