****** TESTING OVER ******

thx for your help... :D

--Mike

Check out the chat channel for live testers, you can talk to them then test, then go back, etc... better than forums...

"Red Five standing by..." :)

Testing this time was better. After a little chatting, I found my Point-of-View floating near the ceiling. I hadn't moved or done any other action - I just snapped up there and couldn't move or mouselook. I could chat, though. After a few seconds, I popped outside of the sub.

After you suggested it, I pressed "F" and that popped me back inside the sub. We chatted a bit, then suddenly I got a Windows-level disconnect pop-up. I'll try logging back on now...

Update: I logged back in, but I was the only one there. However, this time, I got a "DirectX Helper" notice from ZoneAlarm that I'd never seen before. I went ahead and permitted it to access the net and act as a server. But, I was the only player (display near chat read "1").

Well, after getting back in again, I guess the test did provide conclusive results, even if not what was hoped for. As they say, "The operation was a success but the patient died..."

I liked the "Lenin lives" on a texture... ;-)

THANKS Wendell, Anatoly for helping out... RAD is proving a lil problematic with its peer2peer system...

chat is a really a pain... i'm just about at wits end with it...

Thanks Again

You're welcome. Best of luck with the networking issues (one of the trickiest areas in writing a game, from what I've seen).

I keep missing your "tests" on both forums Mike, heh

Is it still the same problems we had before? (3rd takes the host slot) or similar?

I still cant find any reason why it would work fine on the Lan and not the internet, since its using the same protocol.

Zmatrix

neither can i... it's very frustrating...

it's gotta be my chat code...
