Warriors Two

Warriors Two: Just watched it, classic film kung fu with Sammo Hung and Cassanova Wong. Hong Kong Lengends restored version, just brilliant. I have about 150 Martial Arts DVDs and have seen more too! If you wanna know if a movie is good, ask me or um ... google it.

Hmm, realised this isn't very Blitz Based, but my game Iron Fist (see sig) is kung fu based and influenced by all the classic moves although it is FAR from complete.

Can anyone else keep this thread alive in a Blitz Basic manner?

I love kung fu but right now I am really into Zatoichi, have just finished watching all 26 films. Damn good stuff.

Have you seen Shaolin Soccer? Crazy fim.

Legend of the Condor Heroes (the 1982 version.....)

Caught Versus the other day - some nice ducky-divey fisticuffs but even more barking and low-budget than Junk. Erm... lots of games have "versus" modes, don't they, and Blitz is used to make games. Yes. That's the connection.

I really don't care for kung-fu movies in general, but Shaolin Soccer rules. :-)

I'm a big fan of Asian cinema too but i don't have much time for the older stuff - mid 90's and onward definately! Favourite films are probably Volcano High and Bichunmoo (both from Korea), and Azumi 1 & 2 are pretty cool too! Battle Royale 1 always good for a laugh

Not to mention Japanese horror films like the grudge & the ring :)

I'm a huge Sammo Hung fan. My mission in life is to see all of his movies.

JimJams: Bought HKL The Grude for £4 off a stall yesterday! Shame you only like 90's movies as imho the best Kung Fu ones were made in the late 70s and early 80s, Shaw Brothers anyone?!#

In fact Sammo on the extra feature of Warriors Two was explaining that they had to train really hard and put in massive effort to do those long shots with 20+ amazing moves, and do all their own stunts with no body protection etc. Whereas nowadays the actors have stunt doubles and everything is cut to one kick, 2 punches etc which I think is not as good as it doesn't show off the natural athleticism of the actors (if they still have any).

Of course there are still great modern movies, Shaolin Soccer has already been metioned but also Ong Bak (Sheer physical brilliance) and Kung Fu Hustle (hilarious).
