Call of Duty 2 - Big Red One?!

Is this a bad Japanese translation?

Big Red One = 1st Infantry Division, US Army. They landed at Omaha beach on D-Day.

Ohhhhh man, I was thinking of something TOTALLY different.

Big red one?

Soon we'll all be able to say "I've got a bigredone"

Also a great WWII flick with lee marvin (I think). They wouldn´t have understood the inuendo in the 40´s I guess. Just like people back then had no problem admitting that they were gay.

Just like people back then had no problem admitting that they were gay.

Uh? plenty of people had a problem admitting they were gay back then, mainly because it was illegal, wasn't it? But anyway...

big 10.... he means cause the term 'gay' didn't mean homosexual

I don't think so. He said admitting that they were gay. You cannot use the term in that sense and not imply homosexuality.

I don't think he knows much about history and you don't know much grammar.

Shame you both post like you do.

no.. in that context, it means that people wouldn't have a problem admitting, litterally, "I'm feeling gay" or "I am gay"

which back then didn't mean homosexual, and would have meant, I am happy... and therefore, wouldn't have any reason to be reserved about admitting it.

So he didn't place it in the exact sense that you were...

Saying "I'm gay" back then meant you were happy. So also back then... "admitting you were gay" would also simply mean that you admit you are happy... joyous...

So............ shaddap you. :)

He shoulda wrote "gay" in quotes so we all understood, it was ambiguous imho.

get back ontopic, ladies

hehe I didn't mean to start a flamewar about the word "gay". My fault, I obviously misunderstood pl@ant@genet's post. Sorry. :)
