WANTED: Vector GFX Lovers.

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/WANTED: Vector GFX Lovers.

Some months ago we started work on a game called "Space Junk", the idea was to develop an old-skool vector game. Work on this project came to a stand still as we just could not get the gameplay element sorted. I thought that it would be a shame to just throw this one away and wondered if anyone would like to pick it up and try to do something with it.

Here's the exe as it stands : http://www.indiepath.com/tim/junk.zip

Fly your ship using the mouse, the ship will always point at the crosshair. Use Mouse1 to file a thingie and Mouse2 to accelerate.

The idea is to collect "Space Junk" (the purple stuff) with your electromagnet and drop it off at one of the recylinging things. The SpaceBar turns the magnet on and off, the number above the magnet represents the power. If the small red thingies hit the magnet they deplete the power.

Some other thingies which resemble blobs of stuff steal power from your recylers and the idea is to.... Ummm I can't remember. But anyway it needs ripping apart and starting again!

Press "E" for electromagnetic Pulse
Press "1" for super special glow effects
Press "z" for electomagnetic mines

Let me know if there is *Any* interest. Oh and you'll need Blizt3d.

I like it. Multi layered starfield, great particle effects, multicoloured bullets (like Spec/C64 days). The idea that you are looking at an arcade cabinet screen is interesting but if you don't realise that, it just looks like an off-black screen.

Was this Blitz3D or Max?

Seems interesting, but I can't take it on.

Blitz3d using my 3dLine lib.

Tell me Mr Grey, do you have time for a small project other than this?

well ... If I put some of my own projects on the backburner, yes. I have to keep earning money via my regular job (Delphi contract work) which is around 20-25 hours per week. Bear in mind I've only got Blitz Plus, I'm prepared to get Max and that should be an easy transistion but I haven't used Blitz 3D so wouldn't be much good at it, tbh.

I wish I only had to put 25 hours in a week :D I do about 36 a day :P

I've something else I need some help on, it's a lot bigger than this and would be a BMAX project. I'll talk to you via the old email.

Tim.

The 25 hours just happen to be well paid because I've been doing the same thing for 9 years, but I'm bored.

btw I have skype setup now.

I was wondering what happened to this.

I'm afraid extreme laziness precludes me from taking this on. ;o)

Jake, just Sykped Ya! (if you can call it that)

hmm, I was sitting here waiting for an email. I don't have Skype running all the time. I was gonna run it if required. Let me know next time and we'll try again.

[edit] this message is old now as we have made contact.

Hey cool! I liked it... :O)

Looks like we have an interested party...

I love vectors and I love this nice demo. thanks =]

@Wiebo, It's your fault I started this game!!! :D Your Thrust Deluxe game is so cool I had to have a go at some vector stuff.

Wiebo: Just checked out Thrust Deluxes, it's really good. Nice Hubbard Sid too.

I liked it.
