I once did this little Mars-Demo in a night when they were searching for Collin Pillingers Beagle-2. Including a morse-engine! ;O)

heh, I like that. I got a highresolution mars surface elevation bump map somewhere round here. Makes lovely terrains :D

I knew you'd all be impressed. You did click the "Life on Mars" button right? That's when all the action starts.

taumel: Your demo makes weird beeps at me, is that part of the music or the renderer indicating errors?

Indie: bump map sounds cool. Now someone needs to make a mars rover simulator (or race) except that they should be able to go faster than say 1 metre per day.

Beeping=morse engine...did you understand the signal? :O)

Oh OK, sorry doh, it was just so loud over the ambient effect I thought it was an error message. I could look it up on google but it may be quicker if you enlighten me!

Uhh i can't remember the exact text but it was a sos-message for sure. Yep a little bit loud that's true...i always told the ESA officials that their signals are amplified too much in their search gliders...

Have now been playing taumel's 'mars4' for 14 minutes. Only just realised that centring the mouse allows you to control your flight.... Actually this is damn cool

I heard about 15 mins of Longplayer {cg piece of music designed to last 1000 years without repeating} in the chill out area of the Millenium Dome. taumel's piece is way cooler.

taumel: yeah I really like controlling it, it's cool.
