Looking for Voice Actors.

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Looking for Voice Actors.

Me and a close schoolmate have been editing maps for various games as of late, you know for fun.

We are working on a Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne RPG. It is in the early stages of creation.

In any case, I need or better said, would like to include the voices of people who I know, or are influenced by.

I can't pay, since it is just a free Warcraft 3 RPG, and some of the roles have lots more lines than others. So even if you just want to get your voice into the map, give me a shout.

I'll be including your name and the character you played in a psuedo-credits form. It won't be a proper credits like Blizzard does at the end of their campaigns, but it will be credited in a place that people will see. Ie, during a loading screen.

There really aren't that many big parts. There are only 3 or 4 characters that go through the entire deal. And the game itself isn't very long. But it might have more episodes tacked onto it.

The biggest reason I am mentioning this, is that I need several female voices. 1 for one of the controlable heroes, and 1 for the voice of the leader of the area whom you fight against.

If you are, or know someone who is a women who would get a kick out of this, have them e-mail me.

For the largest role, I'm expecting around 100-500 lines. thats a wide range, I know, but not everything is written, so what seems like it might take only a few line, may end up taking more to feel natural.

Anyway. I would really like to include some of the Blitzers. It should be fun, and I'll try to give a part to everyone who asks for one. I'll even write parts into the story, or side stories for added color.

Thanks

You may want to make it Warcraft-like, rather than placing it in the actual Warcraft-universe... I mean, it's a pretty generic genre, so why risk receiving a cease-and-desist notice from Blizzard when you can pretty much get away with it simply by slapping a different title on it and using some different character names?

I think you missed the case... it is a Warcraft 3 MAP

I can't get a cease and desist notice for making a map with their editor for use with their software.

I think that you think I am making an RPG set in the Warcraft universe... this is not the case... I am making an RPG, in the warcraft map editor... .. for playing in warcraft 3: Frozen Throne...

Why? Its just a Warcraft map.
If your gonna spend that much time with vocal artists and stuff, make a real game. Try a warcraft clone.

3 main reasons.

Creating a Warcraft map will be considerably faster.
All the art is already there, the engine is powerful enough to create something compelling.

There is already a huge number of people who play warcraft 3 and like to have new content that is rich and polished.

It is fun.

It's a good idea. Warcraft 3 campaigns are popular and cool - especially if you can do a bit of modelling and add new content as well.

But my voice sucks.

Ah. I didn't realize you were making a map, I thought you were talking about an RPG from the ground up, based on the existing game.

Disregard what I said above. :-?

It might help if you listed the type of characters you're looking for (other than just male/female). I mean, if you want a guy that sounds like Pee-Wee Herman, than I'm not your man, but I could certainly do some other type of voice.

I might be interested in a smaller role (read, not 100-500 lines) if I can play/hear the final result.

BTW, I'm male ;) (American English accent)

Hm, thats not a bad idea WolRon... so... here goes.

Characters that I have so far are.

Sarah Highwater - Human - female - main 'bad guy' leader of the area, not exactly a queen tho. Should have a strong voice.

Snive Von Sunderlund - Human - male - very small role, kingly.

Noluk - Orc - male - not a large role, but a fun one. I need an orc like voice

Noluk's Wife (Grodona) - Orc - female - even smaller role than Noluk, gruff orcess voice.

Dy'Ral Underbridge - Half Elf - Male - Playable Anti-hero. Sarcastic, but very muted in tone. Not very patient.

La'Ryd Overburden - Nightelf - female - Playable Anti-hero. Smart and witty. She likes to make jokes and is fun loving... in an evil kind of way.

Those are the main characters, bit roles aren't set in stone. SO if you have a voice you like to do, give me a shout... It will be fun.

WolRon, give me an e-mail with a recording of your voice, or a voice you'd like to do. I'll fit you in somewhere... also.. include your name, or the name you want in the credits

what about a voice like gollum or the emperor from star wars?

Sure, I can use voices like that...

Hey I'm up for a spot of Voice Acting too!

Let me know - I'm 45 years old, so I can do voices with a bit of timbre in them. I can also do loads of different ones if characters is what you are after.

IPete2.

(ps I also play Santa at Chrimbo! lol!)

Santa, huh... I can see a voice like that for a couple of people... Like Snive and even Noluk, with some effort.

I can still use more voice actors. You don't even have to be all that good, not for small roles, you just have to have a different voice than the people I have, younger, really old, female.
