How Many People Play Games On A LAN?

i need to know if you play multiplayer games on a LAN some of the time, all of the time, or on the Internet exclusively...

Use to at work a lot but I work at home now. Used to play on Internet a lot but forced myself to stop!

never played on a lan since I started working from home. Play on the internet rarely.

10-person LANparty every 6 weeks or so, Life permitting.

Otherwise, internet. Good for a quick 20 minute blast.

I only play on LAN for co-op games that dont take a hissy-fit when I do the "Start game with disc, eject it after protection check, then toss disc to bro" routine.

I used to play Starcraft with my roomie... but those days are over...

I used to play loads of stuff way back when... doom, decent, terminal velocity, warcraft 2 and all that.

I go to LAN cafes and play, but at home, nope.

I use to play a lot of LAN games but now only a few times a year. It's frustrating trying to get everybody onto the same version and security stuff patched out so that they'll play.

Cavedog's Total Annihilation had it right: 1 CD lets 4 people play, I bought it twice and played 8 (well 6 actually) player LAN games. Games that demand 1 CD each I no-CD patch, because it's rediculous to buy so many copies just for 4 hours or so play every now and then... There's a dirty great big get a clue sign there somewhere...

Yeah, I have 3 brothers, LAN is really important for us, we've been dying to play some new LAN games...

Both, although neither very frequently.
Internet play can be good for 'quick' games since it tends to be easy to find some opponents, a LAN game can last a lot longer but typically takes more advanced planning to get started.

(And there's always the hybrid: playing a LAN game that doesn't have built-in internet functionality over the internet anyway using a packet forwarder)

I used to play Battlefield 2 alot over lan until my seccond pc got struck with a power-spike and died. Lucky mine was behind a ups.

That's tru, lan games can be a be more fiddly to get started unless you network already exists.

More internet then lan games currently, I'm looking to change that around though.

yeah.. I've always found it hard to play LAN games when there's no network.. LOL


oh.. and I play on LAN too.. (allthough it's been awhile since the last frag-fest now..)

Sometimes we have couple days LAN with my friends but not so much lately.

Mesa play LAN. :) I play Porsche unleashed alot with my GF.
