SOS I got DirectX bug can anyone help?

Hi all,

I got a bug. I've installed Blitz3D 1.9 I got NVidia GeForce 6800 with latest drivers + P4 775 3.2 GHz + 1GB RAM. Every time I try to start my Blitz3D I get a message box that says: You must have DirectX 7 installed to run blitz basic. DirectX v7 provided on CD.... The thing is I got DX 9c installed. I can't run Blitz at all because i get that at startup every time. Can anyone help? Also DX9c runtime is retail version....

Click START, RUN then type DXDIAG.

check for any errors that show up on the DirectX Files window.

It sounds like your DX is corrupt, or did not install the dx7 components.

that's the thing it is installed because i'm able to run that 3D test in dxdiag. it checks for DX7 interfaces test runs fine and also there are no errros with any of the dx dlls.

Run the DX73d tests to see if they come up ok..

Sometimes if you have SMS or Remote desktop running in the background dx7 3d doesnt work.

Update the graphics drivers, and be sure to set your graphics (in the game) to a reasonable screen area... also, updating to the latest service packs could help

i had this problem, fixed right up when i installed the correct AGP drivers
