Any decent Doom3 Mods/TC's?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Any decent Doom3 Mods/TC's?

The game was apalling, but the engine's decent, so I thought I might reinstall this if there are some decent mods or total conversions for it. Anything reasonably complete yet?

I think people are looking forward to Quake4 =] Looks like the same old stuff to me, but I'm a pessimist at the best of times.

Aren't Raven doing Quake 4 though? Raven have a history of making a decent game with ID's engines when ID can't manage it. Having said that, I disliked Quake 1,2 and 3, so I'm not exactly on the top line waiting for it either.

From what I've read about Quake 4 it should pretty much rule. If you liked Halo then chances are you'd like Quake 4. The addition of vehicles and more gameplay modes should really give ID another kick back into the multiplayer share. Quake 2 was nice, the graphics were smooth and good looking on my Voodoo 1 back in its time, I clocked the game so It'd be interesting how ID/Raven pick up the story line and if they make it more interesting than a freaky assed fps with some nice texturing.

Hi Sybixsus,

if you're interested in some eye candy and have something like a GeForce6800 or better installed this might be interesting: http://fabio.policarpo.nom.br/files/Doom3_ReliefMapping.zip

It's relief mapping in doom3.

Greetings,

taumel

Oooh, relief mapping! The effect is great. Too bad it needs pixel shader 3 :(

Who cares, I want the next Commander Keen game! Darnit, Id!

I was hoping for something fairly substantial. Something which just uses the engine and gets rid of most of the content, which I can't really stand. After thinking about it, I decided to reinstall HL2 instead. I can enjoy that without mods.

good choice, sybixsus...

If you run XP, Blood is still a lot of fun. =]

Dungeon Doom is kinda decent, it's pretty much Doom3 but with an RPG twist (Experiance & Buying items with money), along with what Doom3 itself was missing, crapload of enemies heading for you at once.
(well, in the later levels, it starts off pretty melllow for the first few floors)

Only thing it could use is more diversity in its randomly generated levels, they're very, very, plain as of the latest version.

There's also OpenCo-op if you got someone else you'd want to play the single-player portion of the game with.

from what i heard doom 3 was quite hard to mod as say opposed to UT . Thats about it really, hence the lack of mods

Get yourself FarCry! ^^

I have it. It's rubbish. Barely better than Doom 3.
