Database Options?

Are there any modules for reading from and writing to databases? Local databases, not online via PHP and whatnot.

I'll probably just roll my own but I'd like to know my options before I make that decision.

This SQLite mod of any use to ya?

SQLite support wouldn't make me sad.. :p
