DLL problem

Not sure if it is my system or BMAX ... when I try runnig firepaint or some other demo
I get a popup saying the c:\windows\system32\d3d8thk.dll is not a valid windows image --
please check against installation disk.

window title says firepaint.exe BAD IMAGE.

When I click ok program seems to run ok. ??

Go to "Run" in window's then type "dxdiag" check if everything is fine there, if there is a problem then redownload Directx or download d3d8thk.dll

downloading the DLL fixed it.

Not sure why this happened it was workig before

Did something corrupt the dll ?
