Bmax and Mandriva Linux

Hi

I have a big problem with mandriva linux distribution.

It's impossible ton compile module i obtaint :

Linking main :
/usr/bin/ld : cannont fond -lGLU
Collect 2 : id retuurned 1 exit status

I have try to install all package ! mesa etc etc

I have read this topic for information :

But nothing work ... Bmax have a problem on this file :
blitzgl.linux.c

Bmax don't find the file
#include <GL/glu.h>

I have try to locate this file on the hard drive but nothing.
I have some GL directory under my hard drive like :
usr/include/
usr/XX11R6/include/

There is many .h file under but not glu.h ???

Heelllppp linux is hell ...

Note : I have try to login in administrator mode and copy
manualy glu.h and it's seem ok, i can rebuild all module
without error.

But the blitmax won't compile my code alway the same message.

Have you tried looking for packages with similar names to these in Mandriva's software repository?

Try using Ubuntu like I did in that thread. I know exactly what you're going through, and Ubuntu made it all pretty easy! Relatively easy, anyway...

I use Mandriva and when installing it I selected a customised install. I installed all the developer tools available on the installation DVD and blitzmax works fine. The tools needed for blitzmax are definately on the dvd or cd's you have. Just install all of them.

is it the 64bit or 32bit version of Mandriva you have installed?

It is the good version ?

There is a post above already confirming it is possible to install mandriva from dvd version, the trick is to select all the development packages,

Go to the package manager and please confirm that you have done so,


or do as James did and download ubuntu hoary hedgehog 32 bit which is / should be the current BlitzResearch recomended Linux distro for BlitzMax developers.

Or if you prefer KDE, www.kubuntu.org

But yes, just goto the control panel, then to package management then you can install the dev tool packages and everything will work fine under mandriva.
