Just wondering if this was supposed to just be a demo or complete as my bullets never blow up on an asteriod but blow up in random space.

The asteroids one seems to just be an example you can work with. Digesteroids (the other asteroids like game) was a more complete example.
the bullets always seem to explode at the same spots (in one game anyway), or maybe at a certain age.. don't know why really, didn't feel like figuring it out

Digesteroids is also an EXCELLENT example of how a program should be written in Max using OO. It actually has comments too, unlike most of the other samples.
Yes it is very good, it gave me some pointers on how to do things. After learning the basics of OO from the tutorials I would suggest using digesteroids as a good example to emulate.
