manifest file question

Probably a stupid question, but could somebody please explain how to insert the manifest file into the EXE.

I've got a little utility I wrote to do it, but it needs .Net to run. You just browse for a file and hit the button and it inserts a basic manifest that'll enable WinXP themes (I presume that's what you want). If you're interested let me know.

Thank you, but I would prefer to avoid the 23+ MB download for the runtimes just to run your program.
