How i can export maya format to .3ds?

I have a model made with maya, but i need to export it to 3ds max.. how i can do this?

I have had a lot of sucsess with this but in the other direction.

Its free, so just grab the Max and Maya version of the plugin.

Or you can get a .OBJ importer for Max (sorry, dont know the address).
