Psuedo 3D space harrier/Outrun style engine

Hi,

I am going to create an old school style psuedo 3D driving game, akin to the style of Outrun/Space Harrier/Crazy Cars/Lotus Esprit.

Does anyone have a link or more information on creating this kind of game, just to get me started?
