Mech [WIP]

Miscellaneous Forums/Blitz Showcase/Mech [WIP]

A cute little mech I'm making, comments and or crits are welcome. Edit: Oh, and the amount of polies I use is irrelevant. I could care less about optimization when I'm doing this for fun. The toy I'm basing it off of, btw:

Litte update

That's actually some really good sci-fi modeling. If you can skin the panels with some nice bevels, that style will look really good, regardless of what the object is.

'Nother update, lower torso is almost done, just need to add some more bits...

Oh, and thanks, halo.

More!

Not bad at all... and the polycount is lowish IMO, so you would do a mech game for example using this model :)

Thanks, here's another pic.

3608 polygons so far (by polygons I mean triangles).

What are you using to model with?

Looks great by the way.

For some reason I'm guessing Wings3D... dunno why...

Looks great by the way, although I would reduce the supports on the feet a touch, the only reason they're on the toy is because it doesn't have an advanced gyroscope to keep it upright, a mech is somewhat more sophisticated.

I love all the detail though, looks really nice.

CyberHeater: Wings 3d, as Dr Av guessed. Thanks.

Dr Av: I think your guess is based on the general look of the picture, and because Wings 3d uses that color of a background.

Anyhow, I prefer it the way it is, so whatever. ^_^

And thankses.

Updatio, it's finished!

Kinda sucks that I didn't get past 5,000 ;)

WOW! :D
Me GitTech, me likes! :D

*whistles*

verrrry nice :) I like the look of the finished product.. what'd you use to do the texturing?

There isn't any texturing ;)

It's very cool :) I like it alot!

Wicked Cool!!!

L8r,

Heh, wicked :D

It needs guns... BIG guns... LOT'S of guns... :)

Very cool - what did you use to render it with?

Morphecy: Thanks :)

Mustang: Working on that- gotta make a special version of it so it can go in Bioscythe.

SimonH: 3d Studio Max R3.1.

BTW, if you have 3ds, there's a great script for simulated global illumination called E-Light at http://home.wanadoo.nl/r.j.o/skyraider/e-light.htm I recommend it to anyone who can't use Brazil or Max 5's GI (I think it was Max 5).
Oh, and those pics weren't rendered using E-Light though, but rather my own GI'esque light setup.

It's very nice indeed. Smooth and low-poly enough even for real-time. Texturing would make it look even better.

Also, if it could tilt its head back a bit it could bring you drinks.
