Blitz2d games are Slowwwww

I've built a new PC, based around a AMD-2600+
and a MSI-K7N2G-ILSR board (its a nforce2 board)

It comes with a G-force4mx onboard graphic card.

trouble is.. ALL Blitz2D games, including my own run
slow.. and i mean SLOW.. ie each frame of animation takes like 1 sec to display.. so you can see this is SLOW.

just wonder if anyone else as experience this kinda slow down, possible with NForce2 boards?

Blitz3D seems fine and uneffected.

oh i just downloaded example 2d games from Blitzcoder.com,
i have tried recompiling mine with the new Blitz3D patch.
would have to dig it out first.

using Directx8+detonator drivers 43.45

Any ideas?

nVidia broke DirectDraw blitting (causing massive slowdown) with their 43.45 drivers. Needless to say, this was a *big* topic on these forums a few weeks ago. They fixed it by 44.03, so try a driver update.

just been busy with work, and to tired to do owt during
the night... oh that and having Broadband, and able to get my fave tv shows day before they aired in the states..

but since i've been away, have to say, there been some
impressive stuff out with Blitz3D... 3d still makes my head hurt.lol!

oh, just installed the 44.03 drivers and they work a treat.. phew!

now i can play Jardinains at home and not just at work...
its the number 1 game in support! that and Unreal.
