Terrain Height Maps

Can anyone tell me what formats are supported by the LoadTerrain() command? The manual/help page don't seem to say anything about it...

I know that you can load a BMP in, but I'm yet to find a terrain generator that will actually export a BMP. Does anyone know of one?

It's a bit annoying having to export the height map and then try to find some way to convert it through to a BMP...

Is there a better way? Am I missing something?

I think JPG and PNG also work.

Click on the Total Terrain link in my signature. It outputs BMP's.

You can also read the tutorial at Blitzcoder about using Terragen to create Heightmaps and textures for Blitz.
You can use Paintshop or similar to convert the .raw format to .bmp.

Total Terrain thingy looks pretty nice, but... "No save or load"? Kinda essential really :) How do you get any output from it?

I've been using Terragen and converting the RAW output to BMP. In Bryce I've been doing screen grabs from the terrain editor :) I was just hoping that there might be something better out there...

You can save and load perfectly well. Maybe the docs you're reading are related to an early demo or something.
